Regional meeting set to take place in Belgrade could be postponed (Koha)

Postponement of the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to Belgrade could put into question the regional meeting of ministers of foreign affairs, economy and finance with representatives of European Commission, scheduled to take place in the Serbian capital on 23 October.  This was announced by Serbian FM, Ivica Dacic, ahead of his visit to Brussels where he is to have a farewell meeting with EU High Representative Catherine Ashton. Kosovo FM, Enver Hoxhaj, has been one of the ministers invited to take part in the meeting.

Religious extremism has no place in Kosovo (Koha)

Kosovo’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, writes in an opinion piece that “although Kosovo is a secular state with a secular society, lately we have been hearing radical statements by some Islamic religious leaders who were educated in Arab and Islamic countries. They preach an Islam that is very different from Albanian Islam and a way of life that is different from reality in Kosovo”.

Hoxhaj meets Blomeyer, Germany a strong supporter of Kosovo (Telegrafi)

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj met today with German ambassador Peter Blomeyer to discuss the conclusion of the Stabilization/Association Agreement for Kosovo and bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany. Hoxhaj briefed Blomeyer on the progress in Kosovo, especially about the completion of requirements from the visa liberalization process and the SAA. Hoxhaj thanked the German government for supporting Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic future and for confirming its role as a strategic partner of Kosovo.

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, is attending the 41st session of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In the two-day session, Hoxhaj is expected to address the participants and call for recognition of Kosovo’s independence. He already met several foreign ministers from countries that have not recognised Kosovo and urged them to do so. “I can confirm that the recognition process is unstoppable and there will only be good news regarding recognition of the Republic of Kosovo”, Hoxhaj said.

PDK will not negotiate post of Prime Minister (Koha Ditore)

The post of Prime Minister will not be included in talks on the future ruling coalition that the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) will hold with other political parties. The post is reserved for PDK leader Hashim Thaci. PDK deputy leader Enver Hoxhaj told the paper on Monday that the PDK will wait for the certification of election results before it begins negotiations for the coalition. Hoxhaj said the PDK does not have any “red lines” for political parties, except for the post of Prime Minister.

Kosovo to attend Central European Initiative summit in Vienna (RTK)

Kosovo will attend the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central European Initiative in Vienna today. Attending will be 18 foreign ministers and senior representatives from the European Commission, the Council of Europe and other regional organizations and institutions. Kosovo’s delegation is led by Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj.
