Veseli reelected President of the Assembly of Kosovo (media)

Kosovo Assembly MPs elected Kadri Veseli with 62 votes for, 52 against and no abstentions, for the President of the Assembly of Kosovo. This is Veseli’s second mandate as president of the legislative.

MPs also elected deputy presidents of the Assembly: Xhavit Haliti from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Aida Derguti from Vetevendosje Movement and Kujtim Shala from the Democratic league of Kosovo (LDK) and Alternativa coalition.

Vetevendosje refuses possibility of entering a coalition with LDK or PDK (Telegrafi)

Vetevendosje’s Aida Derguti said today after the meeting of the outgoing Assembly presidency that her party will not join any pre-election coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) or the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). However, Derguti said Vetevendosje has no red lines towards a possible coalition with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA).

 

 

 

Derguti: Edita Tahiri deceived the public, telephone code endangers national security (Lajmi)

Head of the Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group, Aida Derguti, reacted to the publication of her letter addressed to the ITU, by the Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri. During the today’s Assembly session, she accused Minister Tahiri for deceiving the Kosovo population. “With the publication of the letter, Edita Tahiri tried to lie the public, as she has learned to do about the dialogue,” Derguti said.

Derguti: I asked ITU not to allocate prefix through Serbia (Koha)

Vetevendosje MP, Aida Derguti, has denied she asked the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) not to issue Kosovo a dialing prefix. She said that in a letter to ITU which is in the public domain, she spoke about the need to avoid getting the code through Serbia.
Derguti was responding to allegations from the Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, that an MP from Vetevendosje wrote to the ITU asking it not to allocate a prefix code for Kosovo.

Vetevendosje requests special Assembly session for its activist Astrit Dehari (Koha)

Vetevendosje Movement collected signatures from MPs for a special session of the Assembly to discuss the death of its activist, Astrit Dehari, at the Prizren detention facility. However, the request failed as, according to Vetevendosje, one of the MPs was pressured into removing his signature. In sign of protest, Vetevendosje and the other opposition parties, walked out of the meeting of the Assembly Presidency which was supposed to decide the timing of the next session.

Dërguti: Denhari’s death will shake grounds of this regime (lajmi.net)

Deputy Leader of the Vetëvendosje movement, and Kosovo Assembly MP, Aida Dërguti, wrote on her Facebook timeline that justice for Astrit Dehari does not end by enlightening the circumstances of his death. “Justice will prevail when false accusations for terrorism are clarified. Keeping innocent people in prison is the most serious crime that a state can commit. Arben and Mon shook UNMIK’s grounds with their death, Astrit will shake the grounds of this regime,” Dërguti wrote.
