Fire engulfs house owned by member of Catholic community in Llapushnik (Koha/Express)

A fire broke out in a house belonging to a member of the Catholic religion in Llapushnik village, Drenas/Glogovac municipality. Firefighters were called to the site early this morning and according to the Kosovo Police, a part of the house was burnt down. Kosovo Police Spokesperson Flora Ahmeti confirmed the case but said that they do not know the religious background of the house’s owner. According to Express, the house is owned by a member of the Catholic community.

The President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga, met today with the U.S. Congressman, Eliot Engel, accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson. President Jahjaga and Congressman Engel, discussed the current developments in Kosovo, efforts to establish the rule of law, fulfillment of the international obligations, European perspective and stabilization of the relations among the countries of the Balkans region.

Veseli gathers heads of parliamentary groups over special court (Gazeta Express)

Kosovo’s Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, has summoned the leaders of parliamentary groups today in an effort to find a solution to the establishment of the special court. The news site recalls that on Friday the Kosovo Assembly failed to pass the constitutional amendments for the special court, putting Kosovo in a difficult position vis-à-vis its international partners. The government meanwhile has suggested a revote in the Assembly, whereas the opposition has rejected this.

The Dutch Ambassador clarifies himself (Gazeta Express)

The Dutch Ambassador to Kosovo, Robert Bosch clarified his recent statements and actions on his social network Twitter. “To clarify, when I speak out, I have Kosovo’s best interest in mind and never mean to offend. If perceived so, I am sorry for misunderstanding,” wrote Boch. This clarification came after Bosch’s being in the focus of the attention for his statements at Kosovo Assembly during the session for the amndment of constitutional changes that would open way to the special court as well as his actions in the street.

Osmani: We should establish the special court, not the UN (Gazeta Express)

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP Vjosa Osmani said today that Kosovo’s authorities must establish the special court otherwise it will be done by the United Nations Security Council. Osmani argues that if the UN establishes the court this would send Kosovo back to the pre-independence period. She also called on the MPs to vote in favor of the court in order to prevent a worst-case scenario. “The United Nations have already established special courts, in the cases of Rwanda and Sierra Leone,” she said.

He wrote on his Facebook profile that “according to Serbian media, Vucic told Isa Mustafa in front of the EU officials that “there is no chance to accept your requests. We do not give up Gazivoda.”

Publicist Arben Idrizi argues in an opinion piece that if ignored the demolition of the surrounding wall of the future Catholic cemetery in the village of Llapushnik, could lead to tragic incidents.
