Vetevendosje calls for extraordinary Assembly session regarding PISA results (Koha)

Vetevendosje Movement has called for an urgent session of the Kosovo Assembly to discuss the recent result of the survey of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) which ranked the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students in Kosovo on the 68th place out of a total of 70 countries assessed. Vetevendosje MP Mytaher Haskuka said PISA results show Kosovo students lag behind those in other countries by four years.

The EU Office in Kosovo /EUSR, German Development Cooperation, Austrian Development Agency, The Embassy of Switzerland in Kosovo and World Learning issue the following statement: “The results published yesterday of the 2015 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) revealed that out of 72 participating countries Kosovo ranks in the group of the three least performing ones. While we welcome participation of Kosovo in PISA and other international assessments, the results of this first effort are concerning and need to be taken seriously.

Mustafa speaks about the PISA result (media)

  The government of Kosovo endorsed today several draft laws and decision, among them the strategic plan for the development of the education in 2017/2021. According to the Education Minister, Arsim Bajrami, this plan will help Kosovo to attain more qualitative education. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said that assessment of the level of education by the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) shows that more has to be done on this field.
