Discriminated over her stance on NATO bombing? (VOA, KoSSev)

According to numerous reports it is not a rare occurrence that women in Kosovo are discriminated against in many areas of social life, while the attitude of some employers or heads of the institutions toward women is different comparing to the one toward the men. One of the latest examples is a dismissal of Vesna Mikic as Deputy Minister of Justice, Voice of America reports.

Recently deposed Deputy Minister of Justice Vesna Mikic sent an open letter to the Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and representatives of the international community, noting the aim of her dismissal was to permanently remove legitimately elected Serb representatives from Pristina institutions, RTS reported.

“Decision to replace deputy justice minister Vesna Mikic over her personal stance on the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia expressed on social networks which absolutely reflected the truth, represents a continuation of political appointments of private and suitable Serbs in Pristina institutions by Haradinaj, Thaci and Veseli,”  Srpska Lista said in a statement, reacting to yesterday’s decision of Ramush Haradinaj to depose Vesna Mikic.

Deputy Minister of Justice from Srpska Lista, Vesna Mikic was deposed of her function today, because of her Facebook post on NATO bombardment, TV N1 reports referring to KoSSev portal.

The portal reported Mikic on her Facebook profile wrote yesterday “that the NATO campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia came after a decade long fight against Albanian terrorists,” adding “that NATO has committed premeditated genocide.”

Dacic: Some countries are telling Haradinaj - don't do it yet (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says that "not everyone in the international community wants the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to continue." And not everybody wants to find a solution for Kosovo and Metohija, he remarked on Friday in Belgrade.

Dacic also pointed out that some countries are playing "a double game." The minister responded in this way when asked "how it was possible that neither the US nor the EU and other major players are able to force Pristina to withdraw its taxes on Serbian goods."

PM Brnabic comments on Haradinaj’s statement on visit to Pristina (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic commented on Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj’s statement on her visit to Pristina, saying it serves to “throw the dust into the eyes of EU and USA,” Tanjug news agency reported.

She added Haradinaj is doing everything to prevent continuation of dialogue. Brnabic also noted she received no invitation for the meeting, that according to Haradinaj should take place at the beginning of April.

Danas: West supports Vucic because of Kosovo (Danas)

Belgrade-based daily Danas writes that West does not trust the opposition in Serbia would conclude the agreement with Kosovo, because of Dveri Movement, which is a member of the Alliance for Serbia (SzS), while other members of the Alliance “have no clear responses and attitudes in relation to the recognition of Kosovo independence.”

Marko Djuric, Srpska Lista react to appointment of Minister of Agriculture (RTS, Tanjug)

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric said that the newly appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Kosovo Government does not represent the Serbian people, adding such an act represents Pristina’s attempt to diminish unity among the Serbs, RTS reports.

Djuric noted “that newly appointed Haradinaj’s so-called minister of agriculture does not act in consultations and agreement with the institutions of the Serbian state and does not enjoy democratic legitimacy” and would be treated in accordance with that.

Vucic: Haradinaj nominated “private Serb” for his minister (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that the Pristina decision to introduce tariffs on Serbian goods defreeze so-called frozen conflict, Tanjug news agency reported.

He added, this is the reason why he is afraid of everything that might happen in the future. Vucic also said that Ramush Haradinaj “nominated private Serbs for his ministers,” in reference to the decision of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to nominate Dijana Zivic from Independent Liberal Party (SLS) as minister of agriculture, instead of Nenad Rikalo who was deposed earlier.
