Chairperson of Srpska Lista, Goran Rakic said due to the stances of Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija, who are violating Brussels agreements and dialogue, as well as silence from Brussels, Srpska Lista addressed Belgrade and requested consultations with President Vucic in order to define forthcoming steps ahead, RTS reported.
Beta news agency reported today Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he was not optimistic about the upcoming talks with Pristina representatives in Brussels, but that Belgrade would not give up on dialogue, since talks are the only solution towards a compromise.
“The talks in Brussels are ahead of us. I am not an optimist, but Serbs will make efforts to reach a compromise,” Vucic told reporters at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts after the opening of a two-day international conference of the anti-corruption portal “Pistaljka/Whistle”.
Although EU intended to hold a new round of technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina this week in Brussels, Pristina delegation refused so, Tanjug news agency learnt in Brussels.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he had no intention of explaining military units' movements to anyone.
Speaking on Monday, Vucic added that no outsider would ever make any decision in that regard, Beta agency reported.
"It was by chance that the Serbian army and Gendarmerie were not where the (Kosovo) Albanian media had said they would be, but I won't make any excuses when they do get there, nor do I care what they might write or think," Vucic said answering a journalist's question in Zemun.
Aleksandar Vucic says he fears that Albanians have decided "not only to bring unrest and fear among Serbs, but also take some other measures."
The Serbian president said this for RTS, apparently referring to a spate of recent incidents targeting Serbs in Kosovo.
According to the Belgrade-based media outlet Alo, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin said Russia would accept the division of Kosovo and Metohija, if Serbia considers it would be the best solution, Tanjug and RTV reported.
Ambassador Chepurin made these remarks commenting Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic statement that “Albanians would agree to division of Kosovo, and that it is in their interest.”
Comprehensive agreement with Albanians means one thing only, giving Kosovo a seat in the UN, the leader of Peoples’ Party Vuk Jeremic told BETA news agency.
Jeremic added the Peoples’ Party would do its utmost to prevent that from happening.
A broad consensus and the will of a majority in our society must exist for a legally binding agreement with Pristina to be reached.
