Hashim Thaci on Monday called elections for mayors of four Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija. For now, Serbia has not reacted, while the Serb List expects consultations with the President Aleksandar Vucic tomorrow, Serbian media report.

Journalist Milivoje Mihajlovic thinks that by calling these elections, Thaci expects this to cause unrest - a spiral of protests and violence in the north of the southern Serbian province.

Vice President of Srpska Lista Igor Simic told RTS that representative of the List would meet tomorrow with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic over extraordinary mayoral elections in the northern Kosovo.

“We would always consult with official Belgrade and make decisions in line with the interest of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija,” Simic said.

According to him, following the meeting with Vucic in Belgrade, Srpska Lista would announce its stance on these elections.

Assembly Committee on Rights and Interests of Communities and Return meeting was held last Friday in Pristina, TV Most reported.

Opposition Alliance for Serbia (SzS) accused yesterday evening Srpska Lista and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of uttering threats of violence and dismissal of people from northern Kosovo who expressed dissatisfaction over Vucic’s policy in “One of Five Million” protest walks, KoSSev portal reported.

“Decision to replace deputy justice minister Vesna Mikic over her personal stance on the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia expressed on social networks which absolutely reflected the truth, represents a continuation of political appointments of private and suitable Serbs in Pristina institutions by Haradinaj, Thaci and Veseli,”  Srpska Lista said in a statement, reacting to yesterday’s decision of Ramush Haradinaj to depose Vesna Mikic.

Deputy Minister of Justice from Srpska Lista, Vesna Mikic was deposed of her function today, because of her Facebook post on NATO bombardment, TV N1 reports referring to KoSSev portal.

The portal reported Mikic on her Facebook profile wrote yesterday “that the NATO campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia came after a decade long fight against Albanian terrorists,” adding “that NATO has committed premeditated genocide.”

Two volleyball teams “Bukovica” from Ivanjica and “Ribnica” from Kraljevo were banned to enter Kosovo on Sunday, at Brnjak crossing point, Serbian media reported.

The teams were supposed to play matches within Regional League West in Zubin Potok. Their hosts were teams from Gracanica and Lipljan. This is yet another in a series of bans to the sport teams from central Serbia to enter Kosovo, KoSSev portal recalled.

Srpska Lista (SL) said yesterday that “an attempt to abuse a card of member of the Srpska Lista Presidency, Slavko Simic, with the intention of discrediting SL MPs was unsuccessful,“ KoSSev portal reports.

The SL reacted following yesterday’s announcement that the official record of the vote at the Assembly of Kosovo stated Simic was present at the session for the vote for the platform for dialogue with Belgrade.

The leader of Independent Liberal Party (SLS) Slobodan Petrovic wrote an open letter to the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic following Vucic’s claims that Petrovic allegedly voted in favor of the Kosovo platform for dialogue with Serbia and the formation of the Kosovo army as well as that he has organized “One in Five Million” protests in Gracanica, KoSSev portal reports

Kosovo police has reacted to the information that Pristina authorities launched “Steel Ring” action, Tanjug news agency reported. The action implies blockades on the roads and checks of people and vehicles.

Asked by Tanjug news agency if it is true that Pristina has activated police units in order to block the alternative roads from central Serbia and what is the reason for it,  the police spokesperson Baki Kelani responded “that there is nothing concrete” and the police works to prevent organized crime and smuggling, undertaking actions based on legal authorization.
