Serbian illegal operator threatens population in the north (Koha online)

Illegal energy operator in northern Kosovo “Elektrokosmet” which supplies Serbs in this part with electricity, has started today to distribute notices that if they do not pay the energy bills, the will be disconnected from the network.
Sources of Koha.net from the north informed that these warnings have been distributed to the population in Mitrovica, Zvecan/Zvecani, Leposavic and Zubin Potok. “"Pay electrical bills and show that you respect institutions of the Republic of Serbia,"” is written on these warnings.

U.S. praise the resumption of Pristina – Belgrade dialogue (Koha)

Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga, met on Thursday with United States Deputy Assistant Secretary, Hoyt Yee, with whom she discussed current developments in Kosovo, the normalization of relations with Serbia within the Pristina – Belgrade dialogue and Kosovo’s obligations towards the international community.

Mustafa meets U.S. Assistant Deputy Secretary, Hoyt Yee (Koha)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, met on Thursday with the United States Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Hoyt Yee. During the meeting, Yee congratulated PM Mustafa and the government of Kosovo for the agreement reached in Brussels in the field of justice, expressing further support of the US for the Pristina – Belgrade dialogue to normalize relations between Kosovo and Serbia.  Mustafa and Yee also discussed the future priorities of the government and in particular the issues of corruption and organized crime.

EU Office in Kosovo allocates funds for civil society (Koha)

The European Union Office in Kosovo has allocated funds at the value of two million euros for civil society organizations. At the meeting that was organized by the Kosovo Foundation for Civil Society (KCSF) on Wednesday, it was announced that more than 100 civil society organizations and NGOs have applied for different projects that are in compliance with goals and policies of the European Union for Kosovo. The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar, said that the work of civil society is very important.

Mustafa: The agreement proves extension of sovereignty in justice (Koha online)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, informed today his cabinet on the achievement of the agreement for justice in Brussels. Mustafa said during this meeting that the agreement proves extension of the sovereignty also in this field and that the agreement is an achievement which assures unified system of justice.

Kosovo expected to become UEFA member in June (Koha)

Kosovo is expected to be admitted to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on 29 or 30 June at the meeting of the organization’s executive committee. Kosovo Football Federation has applied for membership to UEFA and FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) before all other Kosovo sports federation but it seems now that the Kosovo Olympic Committee has been accepted to the International Olympic Committee, UEFA and FIFA are under increased pressure to grant Kosovo membership.

Kosovo participates in South-East European Cooperation Process in Istanbul (Koha)

The chairman of the Committee on Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force, Daut Haradinaj, took part in the sessions of the General Committee for Justice, Internal Affairs and Security Cooperation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), which was held on 10 February in Istanbul, Turkey. Topics that were discussed in this session were: parliamentary cooperation in the field of justice, economy and the fight against cross-border organized crime in the region.

Kuci reticent on last night's agreement (Koha online)

Despite the fact that  the Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa and that of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic gave insufficient information on the agreement on justice reached last night between Pristina and Belgrade in Brussels, the Minister of Justice at the government of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuci, was reticent on the matter as well.

He said from Brussels that the intention of the agreement was integration of Kosovo’s justice system in every part of Kosovo.

Kirby claims that the issue of Kosovo-Serbian property will come on the agenda (Koha online)

The Ambassador of the United States in Belgrade, Michael Kirby, said that he is optimistic regarding the continuance of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. “The issue of the property will necessarily become part of the agenda, however, implementation of the agreement reached in 2013 should be much more important for Serbia,” Kirby told the Serbian news agency B92.
