Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Serbia

As he said, she will visit Serbia in 2020, prior to expiration of her term of office.

Aleksandar Vucic underlined after the meeting with Chancellor Merkel that they had discussed Kosovo, and economy.

The president said that there's no doubt that Europe wants a solution to the Kosovo problem and that Germany would insist on it.

Immediately upon arrival, Vucic will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

French President Emmanuel Macron plans to appoint a special envoy for the Western Balkans, who would have an active role in resolving the Kosovo issue, Belgrade-based Blic daily reports today.

According to unofficial findings, President Macron has informed Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about the plan during his visit to Serbia. The daily further continues Macron intents to actively engage in this region.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was aware of the official Belgrade discontent against the west, due to the fact that neither Berlin nor Paris “pressed” Pristina strongly enough to revoke the tariffs it imposed on the goods from Serbia, Danas daily reports referring to diplomatic sources.

2019 Western Balkans Summit within the Berlin Process is taking place in Poznan, Poland, B92 reports. The summit is attended by large number of participants, heads of governments, foreign ministers, EU representatives and members of the civil sector from the Western Balkans region.

German Chancellor Merkel had paid great attention to the economic reforms conducted in the Western Balkans states. According to B92 in her keynote address, Chancellor Merkel had singled out and praised Serbia's economic progress.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Pristina said that Pristina representatives acted irresponsibly and arrogantly towards the host at a preparatory meeting for the Paris summit, in Berlin, which was one of the reasons why the summit was cancelled, reports Serbian media. Djuric added that someone in Pristina was very nervous and feared of Serbia.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says that most probably there will not be a meeting in Paris.

Unnamed diplomatic circles told Belgrade based daily Blic that representatives of Berlin and Paris will hold a series of unofficial meetings with Haradinaj and Thaci this week to prepare for a meeting on July 1 in Paris.

Blic reports today, citing a diplomatic source that several meetings have already been held.
