Thailand supports Kosovo’s accession bid to UNESCO (Telegrafi)

Kosovo’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Petrit Selimi, is visiting Thailand where he met senior state officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister, Virasadaki Futrakul. The latter hailed Kosovo’s progress in the last couple of years and said that Thailand would vote in favor of Kosovo’s accession bid to the UNESCO. The UNESCO General Assembly is expected to vote on Kosovo’s accession in early November.

Vetevendosje MP Rexhep Selimi said in an interview with TV Dukagjini today that, at the Kosovo Assembly session on Thursday, the opposition will continue its protest against the formation of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. “Even in earlier sessions [of the Assembly] it was decided to continue with the sessions, but we were adamant to prevent this until the signatures on the Association are withdrawn. Deputy FM Selimi, target of Vetevendosje’s egg attack (all media)

The latest Kosovo official to be targeted with eggs by Vetevendosje activists was Deputy Foreign Minister Petrit Selimi. Vetevendosje confirmed it is behind today's attack and its spokesperson Frasher Krasniqi said Selimi was targeted for his friendship with Serbian FM Ivica Dacic. Selimi: SAA for Kosovo will be signed in October (Telegrafi)

UNESCO benefits impose more responsibilities (RTKLive)

Kosovo’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Petrit Selimi, told Radio Free Europe that Kosovo’s eventual membership in UNESCO would bring many benefits, but responsibilities as well. Selimi said that Kosovo with a very young population, needs assistance and reforms in the education sector, and UNESCO is the one dealing with the issue of reforms, standardization and exchange of educational programs.
