AAK: We will use all means to oppose agreements (Indeksonline)

In a statement to the media, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) said that it is final time for the Kosovo leadership to retract agreements on border demarcation with Montenegro and Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. The AAK said that the calling of Assembly sessions at a time when Kosovo is experiencing a deep political crisis is becoming dangerous. The party called on the President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga to urgently intervene in resolving the situation.

Mogherini: EU guarantees implementation of agreements (Indeksonline/Klan Kosova)

Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said on Thursday that the EU guarantees the implementation of the agreements between Kosovo and Serbia. During a visit to Belgrade, Mogherini said talks between Serbia and the EU on chapters 32 and 35 can commence in mid-December. Klan Kosova quotes Mogherini as saying that the EU expects to open chapters for more detailed negotiations with Belgrade.

Zbogar: Dialogue with Serbia has no alternative, but it should be transparent (Indeksonline)

Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar, said today that the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade does not have an alternative; however, he requested from the institutions of Kosovo more transparency of the process. Opposition: 28 November rally will be peaceful (Indeksonline)

Opposition parties’ activists held a symbolic action today in front of the government building, waving a banner “for the Republic.” Representatives of three political parties told the media that through this action they are urging all citizens to participate in the rally of 28 November against the agreements on Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and border demarcation with Montenegro. They said that the rally will be peaceful.

 

Thaci: Opposition is acting violently and criminally (Indeksonline)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, said today that the opposition is acting violently and criminally in the Kosovo Assembly. According to him, no one can block the work of the Assembly.  “These are criminal and crazy acts to obstruct the work of the Kosovo Assembly. We are elected to implement our state agenda, such as budget. Today, opposition attacked us not only with teargas but with poison as well.

Beqiri: LDK will not support a demarcation agreement that strips Kosovo of its territory (Indeksonline)

The head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group Ismet Beqiri said after the meeting of the Assembly presidency that the opposition parties are not allowing the ruling coalition MPs to express their views on the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. “LDK will not vote for a demarcation that that strips the state of Kosovo of its territory. But this has to confirmed first,” said Beqiri.

Mustafa: Constitutional Court decision does not put into question dialogue with Belgrade (Indeksonline)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, stated at the meeting of the government today that the decision of the Constitutional Court to temporarily suspend agreement for Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities does not put into question dialogue with Belgrade. He said that the decision to address the Constitutional Court in regards to Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities was foreseen in the agreement signed in Brussels.

These are the Muslim states that voted against Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO (Indeksonline)

UNESCO did not approve at today’s General Conference voting Kosovo’s membership in the organization. A part of Latin American states and many states with Muslim majority, voted against Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO. The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Indonesia, Syria and Libya are the countries with Muslim majority which voted against Kosovo’s membership. Kosovo did not manage to become UNESCO member for three votes.
