European Union foreign policy spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic, told Kosovapress that the EU is following the developments in Kosovo regarding the visits of Serbian officials ahead of presidential elections and that it regrets the visits planned within the provisions of the Brussels agreements did not take place. “It is regrettable how recently the visits planned in line with these agreements are not going ahead. We have received reports of road blockades to prevent the people from taking part in today’s rallies in the north of Kosovo.

The European Commission estimates that the property issue in Kosovo must be solved within the framework of a transparent process, involving all the communities to which this issue refers.

"Issues related to property are sensitive and they should be dealt with and regulated through transparent and inclusive processes involving all the communities to which this issue refers. All interested communities must be prepared to engage in such an open and inclusive process," said Kocijančić.

The inauguration of the main Mitrovica bridge set to take place today has been postponed and a new date will be announced after an agreement between Pristina and Belgrade, said Maja Kocijancic, European Union’s foreign affairs spokesperson. “We are continuing discussions with the two sides to find an acceptable solution on all issues relating to works in the Mitrovica bridge and the ‘King Peter’ street, including a new date for the reopening,” Kocijancic said.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, spoke to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci about the recent events regarding the Serbian train that was bound for Kosovo’s north. The delegations of Belgrade and Pristina are discussing in Brussels the details of implementing the telecommunications agreement.

European Commission spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said this on Thursday.

Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman for EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini, said in Brussels Thursday she was not familiar with a document in which Pristina had set new conditions for Belgrade, noting the EU was a facilitator in a dialogue that was currently focused on implementing agreements.

In a statement to Tanjug, she confirmed Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic and Mogherini would speak by phone later in the day.

Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman for the European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini, told Belgrade-based Beta news agency that the EU constantly calls for the full implementation of agreements reached between Pristina and Belgrade. “Any suggestion that agreements reached between Pristina and Belgrade are being corrected, has nothing to do with the reality and is misinformation,” Kocijancic said in response to statements by Serbian officials that the unilateral correction of agreements would be unacceptable.

The European Union is calling on Pristina and Belgrade to implement the duties that are included in the agreement for the formation of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. One day after the Constitutional Court of Kosovo suspended the agreement until a decision on its constitutional compliance is made, officials in Brussels say that the agreement reached on August 25 between Kosovo and Serbia prime ministers must be implemented.

Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said that the EU is not aware about the suspension of the agreement on vehicle insurance. She said the signatory parties have agreed to resolve all issues through an implementation committee and “this is the forum where issues relating to vehicle insurance should be sent to.”

Expert teams from Belgrade and Pristina will soon meet in Brussels to discuss “the missing elements” of the Agreement on insurance of vehicles that exist on both sides. After it they will complete the Memorandum of Agreement on the vehicle insurance from 23 July, which should introduce major benefits for vehicle traffic between Kosovo and Serbia.
