US Ambassador Kosnett attended liturgy in Visoki Decani Monastery (Radio KIM, social media)

Radio KIM reported that Serbian Orthodox Church Visoki Decani Monastery marked yesterday the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Displaced persons from Djakovica and Decane were among attendees. The Liturgy was also attended by the US Ambassador in Kosovo Philip Kosnett with his wife Alison and the US General Shaun Harris with his colleagues, Monastery wrote on its Twitter profile.

Even though the paving of a road in the Decani gorge –which leads to the mountains of this municipality and the border with Montenegro and partly passes through a special protected zone – was stopped in May last year, the Decani municipal authorities continued with the road construction.

Radio Gorazdevac: To start maybe it’s important for you to tell us what is the reason for your visit to this region of Peja?

Radojević: Security situation in Kosovo only seemingly stable (RTS)

Both politics and economy and lately sports and entertainment, whatever the topic in Kosovo and Metohija is security is an indispensable part of the story, outgoing Kosovo Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Milan Radojevic told RTS. He added security situation on the ground is different from what is stated in the official reports.

Speaking for RTS morning news edition Radojevic said the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija only appears to be stable and that the intensified rhetoric is the biggest challenge.

RKP: Since we are talking about Mitrovica North, of course, political issues are always in the first place. When do you expect the Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to continue?

The US ambassador in Pristina expressed the conviction on Tuesday that enemies can be turned into partners if they focus on benefits of cooperation.

Washington’s envoy to Kosovo Philip Kosnett wrote on his Twitter profile that the horrors of the past also have to be discussed.

“With time, enemies can turn to partners when they honestly discuss the horrors of the past, while focusing on the benefits cooperation will bring in the future,” the ambassador tweeted.

In an interview to KoSSev news portal, U.S. Ambassador in Pristina, Philip Kosnettt said that he thought that 2019 “must be the year of a comprehensive agreement”. “If the relationship between Serbia and Kosovo does not improve, it will become even worse. There is really no option to retain the status quo”.

Ambassador Kosnett emphasized his country wants to see a “creative, comprehensive agreement between the two countries”, which must take into account the care and security of Serbs in Kosovo and that it cannot be ignored.

US ambassador: Army a positive step, some misunderstood that US support border change (B92, RTK)

New US Ambassador in Pristina Philip Kosnett said that the announced formation of Kosovo army was a "a positive step."

Kosnett told RTK broadcaster in an interview late on Thursday that "Kosovo's leaders have talked about how the Kosovo Armed Forces could participate in peace-keeping operations overseas." And according to him, they also said that "Kosovo has reached the point where instead of only being a consumer of international security that it can contribute to it."
