Serbian Post Office robbed in Gorazdevac (KoSSev, Radio Gorazdevac)

The Serbian Post Office was robbed last night in the village of Gorazdevac, Pec municipality and smaller amount of money was stolen, Radio Gorazdevac reports.

The worker who came to open the post office this morning noticed the burglary. He reported the case to the police that came on the spot and started an investigation.

The intruders broke the main entry door, secured by metal bars. According to Radio Gorazdevac findings, the safe deposit box was taken away, however, it contained smaller amount of money.

“Serbs in Pomoravlje, but also south of the Ibar River need peace more than money,” analyst Ljubomir Stanojkovic said, commenting on the announcement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that Serbia would invest RSD 9.5 billion in Serb areas in Kosovo, RTV KIM reports.

Journalist Darko Dimitrijevic claims Serbia has invested for years in Metohija, however “transparency and quality of such investments is disputable topic.”

KFOR’s statement on hazardous waste disposal in several locations in Kosovo and that it is kept under inadequate conditions has confirmed our doubts that barrels transported by the trucks to the former Footwear and Leather Factory contain hazardous chemicals and that our protest was justified, inhabitants of Gorazdevac village said, Vecernje Novosti reported.

Luckily, this time representatives of the international community took our protest seriously, they added.

KFOR: Warehouse containing toxic substances in Djakovica is closing, citizens’ safety was jeopardized (KoSSev)

KFOR’s mission as part of the monitoring of all facilities storing toxic chemicals estimated it is necessary to remove toxic substances from a warehouse in Djakovica because they pose a life-threatening hazard, KoSSev portal reported.

KFOR experts inspected the facility in Djakovica yesterday. Chemicals will be moved to a new, safer warehouse, away from the populated area – it was said in a statement.

The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija chief Marko Djuric on Thursday called KFOR and the international community to react to the possible storage of hazardous chemical waste in the Serb village of Gorazdevac.

A statement said that plans have been made to transport and destroy 80 barrels of hazardous chemical waste in that Serb village in the Metohija region near the town of Pec.

"Nope. Unfortunately, there are no Serbs in Pristina. Around 40,000 Serbs lived in Pristina, the same in Pec and Djakovica. However, Serbs no longer live there. And we have to think rationally at the present time, we have to help our people where they continue to live and, as the President himself had said, we will invest more in every Serbian municipality, in every family, in every Serb.

Gorazdevac: New cattle theft – six cows and calf stolen (KoSSev)

According to the Kosovo Ministry for Communities and Returns, last night six cows and a calf, belonging to Jugoslav Stevanovic from the village of Gorazdevac, were stolen, KoSSev portal reports.

Outgoing Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic said in a statement, that “last night theft in Gorazdevac is nothing else but pressure on Serbs to leave Kosovo. Those who carry out such misdeeds send a clear message they want ethnically cleaned Kosovo (…).”

This Monday marks 15 years since unknown persons opened fire from automatic weapons on a group of Serb youths in Kosovo.

They were spending a summer day on the banks of the Bistrica River, near their homes in the Serb enclave of Gorazdevac - a village in the western part of Kosovo.
19-year-old Ivan Jovovic, and 12-year-old Pantelija Dakic were killed in the attack.

Several households in Gorazdevac were robbed last night, Radio Gorazdevac reported. Police is on the ground, conducting an investigation.

According to Radio Gorazdevac a vehicle, agricultural machinery and valuable household items are stolen.

This is yet another in a series of burglaries affecting this village and disturbing the village inhabitants, Radio Gorazdevac said.
