Thaci: Belgrade swallowed easier declaration of independence than creation of Army (Lajmi)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said at a panel for transformation of the Kosovo Security Force that works on this matter have been going on for 17 or 18 years now. He also added that Kosovo was very close to this transformation in 2014, adding that at that time, international community also supported the transformation. The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission intends an internal reconciliation between Albanian and Serb communities.

Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said during her speech at the European Countries Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committees Summit that Russia is trying to impact negatively in the region. “In addition to the internal agenda of the countries of the region, we are also dealing with some geopolitical ambitions. Here I am speaking about Russia, which has openly expressed ambitions to increase impact in the region. Isa Mustafa responds to Hashim Thaçi: Customs director is legal (lajmi.net)

Derguti: Edita Tahiri deceived the public, telephone code endangers national security (Lajmi)

Head of the Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group, Aida Derguti, reacted to the publication of her letter addressed to the ITU, by the Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri. During the today’s Assembly session, she accused Minister Tahiri for deceiving the Kosovo population. “With the publication of the letter, Edita Tahiri tried to lie the public, as she has learned to do about the dialogue,” Derguti said.

Veterans protest against demarcation (Lajmi.net)

Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army in Peja, are protesting in Rugova against the manner of the demarcation of the border with Montenegro. They said that the recently established Commission has put the signs two days ago. “We have always defended these mountains by shedding blood and if required, we would do the same again,” said the head of the Association of Peja Veternas, Gazmend Syla.

Government of Kosovo pledges to launch health insurance premiums in July (Lajmi)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today at the Assembly that healthcare and education are among the top priorities of his government and that investments in these areas will increase in the coming period. Mustafa said the government of Kosovo was planning to launch health insurance early this year but considered more preparations were necessary. “We think the deadline needs to be extended for another six months to provide time for collection of premiums,” Mustafa said.
