NATO: Kosovo has accepted, KSF in the north only with KFOR’s permission (RTKlive)

“Kosovo has committed itself that Kosovo Security Force troops would not embark in the north of Kosovo without a preliminary permission from NATO,” this is NATO’s official response to Radio Kosova.

This office also rejected the claims of Serbian officials for existence of an agreement between NATO and Serbia which does not allow embarking of KSF as well as the future Armed Forces troops in the northern municipalities.

Rama-Mustafa-Thaci, working breakfast in Brussels (RTK)

Prime ministers of Albania and Kosovo, Edi Rama and Isa Mustafa, as well as Kosovo Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci, had a working breakfast today in Brussels. The leaders are reported to have discussed joint projects within the process launched in Berlin by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Rama, Mustafa and Thaci are taking part in the Western Balkans summit organised by the European Commission.

Kosovo Public TV accused of censorship (Turkish Weekly)

Sixty of the top editors and journalists at Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) have accused general director Mentor Shala of censorship and mismanagement over the sacking of two members of the RTK Journalists’ Union.

Shala dismissed newsroom editor Arsim Halili and RTK union president Fadil Hoxha in late March for allegedly “posing a threat to RTK and causing serious damage to its image”.

Mustafa: We will extend our sovereignty in the entire territory (RTKlive)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said during the ceremony of marking the seventh anniversary of the Constitution of Kosovo that sovereignty will be exercised in the entire territory. He said that seven years ago, the Constitution, as the most supreme judicial act , crowned the independence of Ksoovo. Mustafa remembered also those who gave their lives for this significant day for Kosovo.

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, stated that his country would not recognize the independence of Kosovo. Fico met with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic in Bratislava. He stressed that he is following the developments on the relations between Belgrade and Pristina and that there is reason for his country to change its position. “We are not ready to recognize Kosovo and we will not do it,” said Fico. The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic made a similar statement.

Parties agreed to engage on implementation of the agreements (RTKLive)

The government of Kosovo has issued a press release which informs that Minister for dialogue, Edita Tahiri, met during her visit in Brussels with the officials of the European Union. The focus of their discussions was acceleration on implementing all the agreements reached in the Brussels dialogue. She met with Anna-Maria Eleni Boura, Special adviser for the dialogue from the Office of the EU High Representative, Frederica Mogherini, as well as with Nicholas Cendrowics and Alexis Hupin, facilitators of different fields of the dialogue.

Greg Delawie the new US ambassador in Kosovo (RTK Live)

The United States Embassy in Kosovo has announced through a statement that President Barack Obama has nominated Mr. Greg Delawie as the next Ambassador of the USA in Kosovo.

"The US Constitution requires the President to take the advice and consent of the US Senate before appointing ambassadors. Despite recent media reports in Kosovo, the Senate has not held a hearing or vote on his nomination", reads the announcement of the US Embassy in Pristina.

U.S. Embassy welcomes signing of foreign terrorist fighter law (RTK)

The United States Embassy in Pristina issued a communiqué today welcoming the passing and signing into law the legislation that prohibits Kosovars from fighting abroad. “The United States Embassy extends its warm congratulations to President Jahjaga and the Kosovo Assembly on the passing and signing into law the Foreign Terrorist Fighter legislation. This legislation is an important instrument in a broader strategy of fighting violent extremism.
