A state – hostage of commanders (Koha Ditore)

Protest march demanding release of AAK MP Kadaj-Bujupi (Koha)

The women presidencies of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Vetevendosje Movement and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), will hold a protest march in Pristina today at 14:00 hrs demanding the release of AAK MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi who was arrested on Wednesday in relation to the recent events in the Kosovo Assembly. The organizers said the march would be peaceful and with the motto: “A state that arrests the MPs of the people is a dictatorial state”.

Opposition to the government: Stop before it’s too late (media)

The leaders of the three opposition parties, the Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), told reporters in Pristina today that there will be no protest until November 28. Referring to the actions of the government and police on Wednesday, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj said: “they carried out political actions and arrested people in their homes in the most brutal way possible. We will continue with our opposition. They should stop before it’s too late”.

Vetevendosje demands "an end to persecution of opposition" (Koha)

Vetevendosje in a statement said the police are responding to the orders of Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and his deputy Hashim Thaci who “are ready to turn Kosovo into a police state just to maintain power and preserve agreements with Serbia.” Vetevendosje called for an immediate release of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) MP Donika Kadaj-Bujupi, arrested this morning in connection to events at the Kosovo Assembly.

Vetevendosje: The situation will remain tense until withdrawal from recent agreements (Indeksonline)

Vetevendosje Movement through a press release today announced that there will be no normalization of the situation if the government doesn’t withdraw from the recent agreements signed in Brussels. According to Vetevendosje, the situation is tense as a result of government insisting to implement the agreement on Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities and border demarcation with Montenegro. “The situation will remain tense until the government withdraws from these agreements,” noted the press release.

UNESCO refuses Kosovo’s membership bid (all media)

UNESCO did not approve at today’s General Conference voting Kosovo’s membership in the organization. Kosovo’s application received 92 out of the required 95 votes while 50 countries opposed the motion. Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci wrote on his Facebook account that despite the vote result, the vast majority of countries did vote in favour of Kosovo’s membership. “Kosovo’s path is unstoppable and we will apply and gain membership in other organisations as well, including UNESCO,” said Thaci.

Vetevendosje’s message for Hahn: Unjust agreements shall not pass (Koha)

Vetevendosje MPs displayed two banners during today’s session of the Kosovo Assembly when the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Commissioner was delivering his speech. One of the banners asked “Is ethnic segregation an EU value?” in reference to the formation of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. Another banner said “Unjust agreements shall not pass” referring to Vetevendosje’s determination to stop what they consider damaging agreements for Kosovo and its people.

Krasniqi: Opposition MPs will not respond to informative talks (Indeksonline)

Vetevendosje Movement spokesperson, Frasher Krasniqi, said today that the opposition MPs will not respond to the prosecution’s invitations and that they consider these invitations as informative talks. Krasniqi said that the chief prosecutor should protect the state and not the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities and border demarcation with Montenegro. He said he believes that prosecutors should be combating crime and corruption rather than dealing with the opposition MPs.
