Konjufca: We do not support Veseli for Assembly Speaker (Kosovapress)

Vetevendosje’s Glauk Konjufca said during today’s constitutive session of the Assembly that PAN is intentionally boycotting the sessions because it does not have enough votes to elect speaker. “They don’t have the numbers. They don’t want to be in the opposition. We are tired of hearing them say they’re election winners and have the votes. If these are true then why is PAN not in the Assembly”, Konjufca said.

Head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Pal Lekaj, said after today’s consultative meeting of parliamentary groups that it is clear who is blocking the creation of new institutions of Kosovo. He said that PAN representatives would not take part in the Assembly’s constitutive session called for tomorrow as it was announced without prior consultations.

Vetevendosje’s Glauk Konjufca said in a press conference following the consultative meeting of heads of parliamentary groups which he did not attend that PAN coalition was only trying to buy time by asking for additional meetings and not attending Assembly’s constitutive session. “They are trying to buy time to close the deals they have started because they do not have the votes”, Konjufca said.  “Time of political meetings is gone.

No breakthrough in consultative meeting, Assembly to convene tomorrow (media)

No breakthrough was reached today at the meeting between the heads of parliamentary groups and the chairman of the Assembly’s constitutive session Adem Mikullovci, on the situation following the failure of the Assembly to elect speaker.

The request from PAN to hold another consultative meeting on Wednesday before calling an Assembly session later in the week was not approved. Instead, Mikullovci said the constitutive session of the Assembly will take place tomorrow, as previously announced.

Deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, said after e meeting of the party leadership that Kadri Veseli remains the only candidate for Kosovo Assembly speaker and that the decision on whether to take part in the Assembly’s constitutive session scheduled for Thursday will be announced tomorrow.

AAK’s Selmanaj: Not good to call session without parliamentary groups’ consent (Indeksonline)

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) MP, Rasim Selmanaj, said it is not a good thing for the chairman to rush into calling the Assembly’s constitutive session without prior agreement between parliamentary groups. Asked whether AAK MPs would attend the next session, Selmanaj said the party is yet to take a stance on the matter.

Selmanaj’s comments comes after the decision of the Kosovo Assembly constitutive session’ chairman, Adem Mikullovci, to schedule its continuation on Thursday.
