Russian envoy urges OSCE Mission in Kosovo to react to crimes against Serbs (TASS)

Alexander Lukashevich named the protection of rights and interests of non-Albanian minorities among key tasks of the mission and its mandate

VIENNA, October 12. /TASS/. The Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE)’s Mission in Kosovo should immediately respond to threats and crimes against this region's Serbian population, Russia’s OSCE envoy has said.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric spoke with the Head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo about the political and security situation in Kosovo, reads the statement of the Office for KiM, Radio Television of Serbia is quoting.

Djuric pointed out that the recent intrusion of Albanian special forces in the north of Kosovo was a threat to stability and that it is necessary that international organizations in the field take steps to prevent such provocations happening again, reports RTS.

Kozarev at the OSCE conference on ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs (RTS)

In the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Dusan Kozarev, said at the OSCE Human Dimension Conference in Warsaw that Serbs in Kosovo have been exposed to ethnically-motivated attacks in the past year about 50 times. Series of robberies in Gracanica, increased police presence (RTS)

The OSCE wants renewed efforts to uncover the truth behind the kidnappings and murders of Serb and ethnic Albanian journalists connected to the 1999 war.
