VIENNA, October 12. /TASS/. The Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE)’s Mission in Kosovo should immediately respond to threats and crimes against this region's Serbian population, Russia’s OSCE envoy has said.
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric spoke with the Head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo about the political and security situation in Kosovo, reads the statement of the Office for KiM, Radio Television of Serbia is quoting.
Djuric pointed out that the recent intrusion of Albanian special forces in the north of Kosovo was a threat to stability and that it is necessary that international organizations in the field take steps to prevent such provocations happening again, reports RTS.
In the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Dusan Kozarev, said at the OSCE Human Dimension Conference in Warsaw that Serbs in Kosovo have been exposed to ethnically-motivated attacks in the past year about 50 times. Kozarev estimates that this is largely due to the failure Pristina to fulfil its obligations in terms of establishing the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).
OSCE's media freedom representative has told the EFJ he began consultations with the president of the Serbian Commission Investigating Murders of Journalists.
The commission is headed by Veran Matic.
OSCE's Harlem Desir said that the consultations began on how to reopen investigations into the killings and disappearances of 14 journalists and media workers in Kosovo and Metohija, the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) announced on Wednesday.
Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Jan Braathu has visited the Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS) on Friday. At a meeting with the UNS Secretary General Nino Brajovic and a journalist of ‘Vesti’ and member of the UNS Board Jelena Petkovic, Braathu inquired about the ‘Dossier 14’, the UNS investigation into murdered and missing journalists in Kosovo and Metohija in the period from 1998 to 2015.

On Wednesday night 12 robberies occurred in the territory of Gracanica municipality, vehicles and a restaurant were broken into, as well as houses in several locations in the town, Mayor of Gracanica Municipality, Srdjan Popovic told RTS, also confirming that his vehicle was broken into.
