The Management Board of the Development Fund awarded over 2.5 million euros to Kosovo's four northern municipalities at its meeting in Pristina yesterday.

British Ambassador to Belgrade Dennis Keefe said today that nothing is hidden in the negotiation Chapter 35, which refers to Kosovo, adding that all EU members including his country and the European Commission are working on the same goal - the successful completion of negotiations for membership in the EU.

According to interlocutors of Danas, "it is quite likely that the more precise and detailed conditions" will be communicated to Serbia in the next phases of its European path.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said on Tuesday evening that he was glad Europe had set Serbia on an irreversible path, but there should be caution as Chapter 35 would show whether Europe would like Serbia to join the bloc with or without Kosovo-Metohija (KiM).

Not a single citizen of Serbia has failed to feel relief and satisfaction because the EU finally recognized the effort Serbia has invested in the past 15 years, Nikolic said.

Kosovo’s Minister of Interior, Skender Hyseni, met with the ambassadors of the EU member states accredited in Pristina. He told them that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is determined to fulfill criteria for liberalization of visas. Except for the visa liberalization they discussed illegal migration, violent extremism and terrorism.

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Vesei, has criticized the European Union after the news that Kosovo people will not be able to travel without visas in Europe.

At the first annual Assembly-Civil Society Conference, Veseli said if there are voices on organized crime and corruption in the politics of Kosovo, then let the politicians be punished through visa regime, not the people.

Dragan Djukanovic, the Center for Foreign Policy, says that ahead of Serbia, in the coming years on the road to the EU, a lot of work and above all, that it should align its legislation with EU legislation.

He expects also from the European Union to put pressure on Pristina, as soon as possible, primarily to unblock the agreement on the Community/Association of Serbian municipalities.

Serbia has opened the two initial chapters for European Union membership, entering this way an important phase of the process of European Union integration.
