It is not up to NATO to decide on the structure, mandate and mission of the Kosovo Security Force. Future of the KSF is an internal matter of local Kosovo institutions. NATO currently supports the development of the KSF in the framework of their original mission and mandate, through the NATO Liaison and Advisory Team.
Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, is participating at the UN General Assembly in New York.
Thaci said that Kosovo is a few weeks away from UNESCO’s voting for its membership and from other processes such as positive assessment for visa liberalization.
The Principal Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hashim Thaci, concluded his official visit to the Great Britain and traveled today to Paris, France to meet the delegates of the UNESCO Executive Council member countries. Thaci informed about his visit on his Facebook account: “I came to Paris to meet and coordinate with the delegates of the majority of the UNESCO member countries. Lobbying for Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO remains priority of Kosovo’s diplomacy.”
In the middle of the key phase of dialogue with Belgrade and without permission of the Kosovo Serbs, Hashim Thaci and Isa Mustafa decided to form their own army.
Blic writes that Thaci and Mustafa prepared secret plan on transforming Kosovo Security Force into an army, by amending current laws. For this they need a simple majority in parliament. This way the Srpska List would be bypassed, because for the formation through amendment of the Constitution of Kosovo necessary would be the votes of Serbs.
The head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) parliamentary group, Adem Grabovci, told TV Dukagjini that the leader of the PDK, Hashim Thaci, would be the next President of Kosovo. Grabovci said he was conviced that the PDK – LDK agreement for Kosovo’s President would be fully respected. In regards to the protests announced by opposition parties against the agreements reached with Serbia, Grabovci said that the opposition is trying to take the government illegally and will protest for their own interests.
