Political leaders react to postponement of decision on Haradinaj (media)

President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said postponing decision on Haradinaj’s release is “an injustice on so many fronts.” He said international justice continues to be influenced by Serb politics. Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, called for an end to Serbia’s arrest warrants against Kosovo Liberation Army fighters. He said the court’s decision to postpone was “unacceptable.”

Thaçi: Kosovo is ready to cooperate with the Bosniaks (KIM radio)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi met with the delegation of the Bosniak National Council of Sandžak, led by Sulejman Ugljanin. The meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation and coordination between the Albanian community in the Preševo Valley and Bosniak in Sandžak, but also about improvement of their rights.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi said that he was familiar with the position of the Bosniak community in Sandžak, and their representation in local and central institutions.

Thaci: Serbia planned annexation of Kosovo north (RTK)

In an interview to Radio Sweden, President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said that Serbia had plans to annex the north of Kosovo but that they were thwarted by the actions of Kosovo institutions. He said the train Serbia tried to send to Kosovo was an attempt to provoke a situation to justify Serb attacks on Kosovo. However, despite tensions, Thaci said he believed Serbia will sooner or later recognise Kosovo.

Thaci: Montenegrins will be recognized by Constitution (Koha)

The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, hosted today a meeting with a delegation of the representatives of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo.

Thaci stressed that Kosovo is home to all members of the communities who live there. “The Montenegrin community will be recognized also by the Constitution and it will have a seat at the Assembly of Kosovo,” Thaci said.

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said told German papers, Frankfurter Rundschau and Badische Zeitung, said that the decision on visa liberalisation is in the hands of Kosovo Assembly MPs and that to achieve this, they need to ratify the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. “This is the only condition that has not yet been met,” Thaci said.

Đurović: Pristina has not applied for membership in the Council of Europe (KIM Radio)

Pristina has not applied for membership in the Council of Europe, said head of the permanent delegation of the Serbian Parliament in the Assembly of the Council of Europe Aleksandra Đurović.

Đurović suspects they will bring this decision and said that Pristina authorities have been announcing this for two years.

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said at the summit of European countries Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committees taking place in Pristina that the EU often lacks vision and leadership and thus risks becoming a bureaucratic institution detached from its citizens. “One of those speaking strongly about Brussels lacking vision is me but there is no other alternative for us nor are we seeking a different one,” Thaci said.

Thaci travels Germany to participate at Munih Security Conference (Koha Ditore)

The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, invited by the German Ambassador, Wolfgang Ischinger, travelled today to Germany to participate at the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

Thaci, with 500 other world leaders will participate at this conference, which during the last decades has become a very significant gathering for the international strategic community. Thaci is expected to meet with representatives of many countries. He will be speaking speak about Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic agenda.
