PRISTINA -- The Kosovo Special Prosecution has launched an investigation against 135 individuals suspected of terrorism.

Spokesperson Liridona Kozmaci told the Albanian language daily Koha Ditore that charges against had been dropped against only one person, while one more individual is investigated for illegal possession of weapons.

Most of the suspects were arrested in September 2014, and it is suspected that they were either in Syria or recruited people for terrorist organisations Islamic State and al-Nusra, the daily reported.

BRUSSELS - The EU expects the procedure envisaged in the Brussels agreement to be respected in case of the announced visit of Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs Hasim Taci to Belgrade, spokesperson of the High EU representatives for foreign affairs and security policy Maja Kocijancic stated on Friday.

Hasim Thaci has "confirmed his visit to Belgrade to attend a conference on European integration of the Western Balkans due to take place from April 23 to 25."

This was announced late on Thursday by the organizer, the Youth Education Committee NGO.

The organization said that it invited ministers of foreign affairs of "Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kosovo, representatives of the EU delegation in Serbia, embassy officials and expert public" to attend the gathering dubbed, "European integration of the Western Balkans: We can do better together."

Deputy Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Damjan Jovic conferred in Brussels on Thursday with Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Drulak concerning the implementation of the Brussels agreement on normalisation of the Belgrade-Pristina relations and the current situation in Kosovo.

Jovic noted that Belgrade has fulfilled all the obligations from the Brussels agreement signed on April 19, 2013 and accompanying documents, states the release issued by the Serbian government Office for KiM.

BELGRADE/ROME - Representatives of the Chambers of Commerce of Serbia and Kosovo conferred in Roma on Thursday on normalization of postal and railway traffic and other issues important for the advancement of economic activities in Kosovo.

The talks were held between Marko Djuric, director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija, and Edita Tahiri, Minister in charge of the dialogue with Belgrade representing Pristina's interim institutions.

Kosovo Foreign Minister and Deputy PM Hashim Thaci has accepted an invitation "to come to Belgrade" on April 24, his deputy has confirmed.

According to Petrit Selimi, Thaci has provided "a preliminary positive reply." He added that "it is now the task for the Serbian authorities to guarantee his safe stay."

Selimi also observed that "the Kosovo government and the police have been able to guarantee complete security to President Nikolic, Prime Minister Vucic and other top-ranked Serbian officials who visited Kosovo."

The frequent recent incidents in northern Mitrovica could escalate into serious conflicts with unforeseeable consequences for the entire Serb population in Kosovo, Krstimir Pantic, Serbian parliament MP from Kosovo, warned Tuesday.

The former president of the majority-Serb municipality of Mitrovica and former deputy director of the Serbian government’s office for KiM, believes that the responsibility for the incidents should be borne by all – Belgrade and Pristina, and Brussels, and the Kosovo police.
