"Nothing found at suspected mass grave site" (B92)

PRIŠTINA, BELGRADE -- The search of a location in the Piskote village near Đakovica has been concluded with no result, a Priština official has said.

It was suspected that the location contained a mass grave with the remains of Serb civilians kidnapped in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999 by members of the ethnic Albanian KLA, and illegally imprisoned in the Likovac camp before they were murdered.

A total of 73 Serb civilians went missing in the area of Đakovica during the that period of time.

Families of kidnapped Serbs hope to learn about their fate (B92)

An association gathering families of Serb victims in Kosovo said it hoped that an investigation of a suspected mass grave will yield "concrete results."

 The Association of the Families of 1998-2000 Kosovo Victims warned at the same time that last year only nine people were identified from a long list of kidnapped Serbs, and this year none.

They hope that the probe announced on Monday by the Serbian War Crimes Prosecution and the EULEX Prosecution of a site in the village of Piskote "will give concrete results."

Mass grave of Kosovo Serbs in Djakovica/Gjakove? (B92, Blic)

The Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor of Serbia and EULEX will verify information on the existence of a mass grave of Serbian victims in the village Piskota in Gjakove/Gjakovica municipality, the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor in Belgrade announced today.

According to the press release, it is suspected that the grave contains the bodies of people killed during the armed conflict in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999.

The Serbian prosecution has information that the location could possibly contain the remains of victims of KLA crimes in the "Likovci" prison camp.

Serbia could reconcile EU and Russia (Danas, B92)

EU appoints commissioner for neighborhood policy (B92)

BRUSSELS -- Johannes Hahn has been appointed as EU's commissioner for neighborhood policy and enlargement negotiations.

This new office was introduced instead of the commissioner for enlargement, that was until now occupied by Stefan Fule.

Hahn is considered a very experienced diplomat when it comes to relations between the European Union and the Balkans.

New European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has recently twice stated that the EU would not accept any new members during his five-year term in office.

"Agreements with Priština are not interstate" (RTS,Blic,Politika,B92)

BELGRADE -- The government's office for media relations has announced that Serbia would not sign any interstate agreement with Priština.

Director of the office Milivoje Mihajlović said that "only agreements that will make life easier for citizens in Kosovo and Metohija will be initialed."

"Serbia will sign agreements on energy, telecommunications, everything that will make life easier for citizens in Kosovo. No interstate agreement will be signed, that is spin meant to raise the rating of Hashim Thaci," said Mihajlović.
