Srpska Lista: Continuation of ethnically motivated attacks against Serbs (Kontakt Plus Radio, RTV KiM)

The latest display of ethnic intolerance and hatred in the village of Ugljare, near Gracanica continues a series of ethnically motivated attacks against Serbs in January, Srpska Lista said, Kontakt Plus Radio reported.

Srpska Lista also said this is the 9th attack against Serbs in Ugljare village this month.

Gorazdevac: A new series of livestock theft (Kossev)

During the last night, two vehicles and livestock were stolen in Serbian households in Gorazdevac. According to Radio Gorazdevac a van was stolen from Misko Jovanovic, and Branko Stevanovic's vehicle has disappeared from the backyard.

On the same night, from the stables of the Portic family, a cow with calf was stolen. These events disturbed the local population, Radio Gorazdevac reported.

Thefts were reported to the police that started the investigation.

Problem with communal services in Gračanica (RTK2)

RTK2 reports that for more than a week, the Public Utility Company "Komunalac", which operates within the temporary organ of the Municipal Assembly of Pristina (Serbian system), does not collect garbage from Gračanica.

RTK2 says that the Kosovo Inspection for environmental protection has banned the operation of the utility company ''Komunalac'', due to the lack of documentation for work and environmental threats. This public utility company used to operate in Gračanica and it was under the Serbian system.

SLS: We do not fight for majority, but for principles (KIM Radio, Kontakt Plus Radio)

Autonomous Liberal Party (SLS) has started election campaign with a press conference in Gracanica yesterday, Serbian media reported. The leader of the SLS, Slobodan Petrovic said the party does not fight for the majority, but for the justice and principles.

Economic and agricultural development, support to the civil society, participation of citizens in decision-making, preservation of identity and cultural heritage, as well as remain of Serbs in Kosovo, are some of the priorities of the SLS.

Police in Gracanica three months without landline phone (RTV KIM)

Police station in Gracanica, for the three months is without a landline phone, station commander Bratislav Trajkovic confirmed to RTV KIM.

Phone calls at number 038 564 292 remain unanswered, and in cases when help is needed citizens have to go personally and report the problem to the police.

Trajkovic confirmed the phone is not operational for three months already and they have informed the Kosovo post office about it.

To establish a forum for reconciliation with the Albanians (N1)

Serbian national forum (SNF) held Thursday in Gračanica/Graçanicë a roundtable discussion on Serbian politics in Kosovo and new approaches in solving the Kosovo crisis.

It was said that that SNF supports Serbs intellectuals to fight for a different understanding of reality, and offers an authentic creation of a new Serb-Kosovo policy to defend the Serbian national interests.

Protest against frequent criminal activities in Gračanica/Graqanicë (RTV Puls)

On the occasion of frequent criminal activities in the municipality of Gračanica/Graqanicë, that has culminated with an attack of Vojislav Popović (85) in his home, who sustained severe injuries, residents of Gračanica Graqanicë will organize a protest rally, in order to draw attention to endangered safety of the local population.

The protest will be held on 4 November at 12 am.

Gračanica/Graçanicë: Thefts on rise, police without an answer (RTK2)

During the night, warehouse in Laplje Selo was broken into; a certain amount of goods was stolen.

Owner of the warehouse says this is not the first time that unknown perpetrators plunder his property. He said that his house had been broken into earlier, but that he did not report to the police because, he says, he does not trust them.

On two occasions, the target of robbers was the post office in village Ugljare.

Gračanica: Regional Conference on the Rights of Roma (KIM radio)

The regional two-day conference on the rights of Roma, with an emphasis on the use of the Romany language, was held in Gračanica, organized by NGO "Communication for Social Development".

At the conference it was emphasized that the main objective was to develop and increase the trust between the Roma and other communities, the institutions; the standardization of the Romani language, the preservation of Roma culture and traditions, strengthening individual capacities, increasing opportunities for self-employment.
