Danas: ''Vucic threatened bishops with confidential papers''

Belgrade based daily Danas writes about the meeting of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with the SPC Assembly and Patriarch Irinej. Patriarch's praise for President Vucic and his "heroic fight for Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija and all that is related to the Serbian name" are not the position of the Holy Archbishop's Assembly, as stated by the SPC leader, Danas was told by SPC Assembly's circles.

Nikola Selakovic said on Wednesday that President Aleksandar Vucic "did not discipline anybody" at the Holy Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC). According to Selakovic, who is the president's general secretary, the outcome of the meeting is that now a majority of bishops have a clearer picture of the position and policy of Serbia regarding the issue of Kosovo. This conversation was not easy, but it was useful, Selakovic said.

Kosovo police reported about two theft cases affecting the Serb community. A house belonging to the Serb returnee in the village of Brestovik, Pec municipality was burglarized, while the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Petka in the village of Suvi Do, Mitrovica North was broken into.

The Church in Suvi Do village was broken into; a certain amount of money was stolen while the furniture inside the church was demolished. The same church was the target of another theft two months ago, when the thieves stole a small amount of cash.

State officials discuss Kosovo with Patriarch Irinej (N1, Beta, RTS)

Serbia’s high-ranking officials met Patriarch Irinej on Sunday to inform him about the current situation in the country, which President Aleksandar Vucic assessed as “difficult.”

Besides President Vucic, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic.

“On Sunday at 7.30 we would meet with the Patriarch Irinej and Serbian Orthodox Church Synod to discuss about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija since the dialogue is stopped,” Brnabic told journalists following the session of the Serbian Council for National Security this morning.
