Vucic: Kosovo twice worse case than Catalonia (FoNet, Danas)

Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic said Serbia takes the side of Spain, and that despite important differences in declarations of independence of Catalonia and Kosovo, Serbia has to face reality and look into future, FoNet news agency reported.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has said that EU officials should not "abuse" the pro-European orientation of citizens of Kosovo.

Beta reported him as saying that this pro-European orientation has been abused by individuals in the EU in order to humiliate Kosovo or delay its European perspective.

"Kosovo needs to move quickly towards a concrete European perspective, not a process that can last five, ten or 20 years," Thaci has told the Klan Kosova broadcaster.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has rejected the assessment of US diplomat Brian Hoyt Yee that Serbia was "sitting on two chairs."

Serbia is interested only in its own interests, Dacic said on Thursday.

Dacic told reporters in Belgrade that Serbia will continue to work in accordance with its state and national interests, "regardless of what they are saying, from the sidelines."

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Director, Marko Djuric met with the Head of UNMIK, Zahir Tanin today and spoke about current political and security situation in Kosovo and the forthcoming UN Security Council session on Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister, Ivica Dacic spoke in Palermo with his Italian counterpart about attempts to change the format of the UN Security Council sessions on Kosovo, Tanjug news agency reported.

Ivica Dacic and Angelino Alfano spoke on the margins of the OSCE Mediterranean Conference on the relations between the two countries and international organizations, in particular about the UN Security Council, which will be chaired by Italy next month.
