Kosovo Assembly approved in principle the draft-law on general elections. However, the draft-law was evaluated as not including expected changes.

Parliamentary groups gave their support for the draft law with the exception of Vetevendosje that abstained in the voting.

The draft law was passed with 44 MPs voting in favour, 2 against and 18 abstaining, Kosovapress reports. MPs from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) were not present in the session while Vetevendosje abstained from voting.

On behalf of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Arsim Bajrami said they support in principle the bill but added that it does not promote substantial election reform Kosovo needed.

Meanwhile, it is expected  that the second review of the drat-law for KLA veterans will be held in a new session of Kosovo Assembly.
