Serbia will not respond to the request of Kosovo’s opposition to dismiss the Minister of Returns and Communities, Aleksandra Jablanovic, because the Serbian list was not talking with the opposition movement Self-determination, but with parties with whom is in the government, it is the position of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija regarding Jablanovic dismissal.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija said to Danas that “is clear, when the current political situation in Pristina is concerned, that this is not about Jablanovic, than about the internal political dynamics among the Albanian parties.” ” The Serbian list did not talk about the composition of the Government with the Self-Determination Movement, than with parties with whom is in the government, so there is no reason to react to their (Self-Determination movement) calls” stated the Office.

At the Danas conclusion that for the Kosovo government shift of Jablanovic nevertheless is topic, given that the spokesman of the Government of Kosovo, Arban Abrashi said that he will talk about it with the Minister of Returns and Communities, the Office repeated that it was not about Jablanovic, than about the internal political dynamics among the Albanian parties. On the question of our newspaper, whether this means that the Office considers that Jablanovic does not need to leave the position of minister, regardless of what he was saying and thus restricted himself in the work; we did not get a clear answer.

The reason to talk about the shift is that the Serbian minister in the Kosovo government, Jablanovic called Albanians “savages”, who on Christmas Eve did not allow Serbs to visit the church in Djakovica/Gjakova. In Saturday’s protest in Pristina, the opposition demanded the dismissal of the Serbian minister. Albin Kurti, Self-Determination leader, has asked the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa to dismiss Jablanovic until yesterday 16 hours. Commenting on the request, a spokesman for the Kosovo government Abrashi said that the government does not work according to the dictates of political parties, but only on the basis of the decisions of the Assembly.

Analysts in Pristina believe that the demand of the opposition, civil society and students for the dismissal of the Minister for Communities and Returns, is just an excuse to “overthrow the government” and eventually cause early elections. Rada Trajkovic, the European Movement of Serbs from Kosovo, said that “it is the fact that the Serbian Minister Jablanovic prevented smooth performance of his function in the Kosovo government with his inexperience and limited his effectiveness in protecting the interests of the Serbian community.”

“His withdrawal from that function is therefore likely in the interest of our community. We need the full functionality of our, anyway very few, representatives of the Kosovo government. On the other hand, Kosovo institutions must recognize its interest in the necessary transformation of Djakovica/Gjakova in a normal city, which will not be banned for Serbs,” said Trajkovic.
