Ombudsman: Jahjaga, Zbogar and Meucci are hindering investigations on “Hasani case” (KosovaPress)

Kosovo’s Ombudsman, Sami Kurteshi, through a press release informed the public that the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga; European Union Special Representative, Samuel Zbogar and EULEX Head of Mission, Gabriele Meucci, are hindering investigations of the Ombudsman institution over allegations of legal and constitutional violations committed by the President of the Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani.

EU Office in Kosovo allocates funds for civil society (Koha)

The European Union Office in Kosovo has allocated funds at the value of two million euros for civil society organizations. At the meeting that was organized by the Kosovo Foundation for Civil Society (KCSF) on Wednesday, it was announced that more than 100 civil society organizations and NGOs have applied for different projects that are in compliance with goals and policies of the European Union for Kosovo. The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar, said that the work of civil society is very important.

Zbogar asks for an "internal solution" for Trepca (Kallxo.com)

The head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar said on Monday that the dispute over Trepca mining complex should be resolved within the Kosovo institutions, with the participation of Serbs who are present in the government and Parliament.  According to Kallxo.com, Zbogar said that it is in everyone’s interest to prevent the liquidation of Trepca, which according to him, would cost thousands of jobs.

Zbogar: We can only give recommendations to break political deadlock (Kosovapress)

Samuel Zbogar, head of the European Union's Office in Kosovo, said today that the international community would not interfere to break the political deadlock in Kosovo, but that it could give recommendations to overcome the situation as soon as possible. "We will have to wait and see what will happen in the next couple of days. This is a democratic process and in line with the decision of the Constitutional Court. There is no institutional crisis," he said. Zbogar also said elections are the last option and that Kosovo's leaders need to find a solution without organizing new elections.

Constitutional Court lacks quorum, it cannot review political cases (Gazeta Express)

The work of the Constitutional Court is now blocked after the resignation of U.S. judge Robert Carolan. Sources told Express that the Court no longer has the required quorum to address political cases. “The Court currently has seven judges, but Mr. Kadri Kryeziu cannot participate in the addressing of political cases because he was dismissed from such cases after he was seen attending a PDK rally in the latest national elections,” a source told the news website.

Zbogar calls for fair elections (Telegrafi)

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration Vlora Citaku met today with European Union Special Representative in Kosovo, Samuel Zbogar. The latter called for free and fair elections and a great turnout by the voters. Zbogar also promised maximal engagement by the European monitors in the election process. Zbogar and Citaku agreed that elections need to be held in free and democratic spirit, “because the process has crucial importance for Kosovo’s path toward European integration”.
