Hasani: Coalition achieved its goal, now we can talk about elections (Koha)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP, Nait Hasani, said yesterday that the ruling-coalition achieved its goal by electing Hashim Thaci as Kosovo President, and that now they can discuss early elections. He also said the opposition must discuss this issue with President Thaci now. “Thaci can declare early elections and all political parties should meet and discuss this matter,” Hasani said.

Judge Arta Rama-Hajrizi elected President of Constitutional Court (Koha)

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo issued a press release today saying that the Judges of this court, pursuant to Article 114, paragraph 5, of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, have elected Judge Mr. sc. Arta Rama-Hajrizi, as the new President of the Court. Judge Arta Rama-Hajrizi shall assume the office of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo after the end of the mandate of the current President of the Court, Enver Hasani, on 26 June 2015. The mandate of the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo is three years.

Hasani: Constitutional Court does not control political agreements (Zeri)

In an interview for KTV’s show Rubikon, the President of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, Enver Hasani, said the Court has become a victim of the present political situation and added that the Court has no mandate to control political agreements. “This is a process that happens in all democratic countries. With regards to the position of the Constitutional Court, so much has been said that it feels as if we are a party in this situation”, said Hasani.
