"Commanders of KLA zone responsible for journalist murder" (UNS, B92)

Two persons: B. S. and M. S, "apparently connected with the KLA", are mentioned in the documents of the UNMIK Missing Persons Unit.

They are mentioned under suspicion of involvement in the crime of the disappearance of Mr. Ljubomir Knezevic, the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) is reporting on its website.

Knezevis was a journalist of the Pristina newspaper Jedinstvo and a correspondent of Politika.

Filling out the forms again and again (Vesti, Kontakt plus radio)

Vesti portal reports that the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) recently uncovered another murder of a journalist in Kosovo, commentator of the RTV Pristina, Kristo Gegaj, who was killed in Istok in 1999.

His name has not been recorded so far in any of the lists of killed journalists, and the number of killed and kidnapped journalists and media workers during and after the war in Kosovo has risen to 14, reports Vesti.

UNS in Kosovo: Local authorities not to make selection while inviting media (KIM Radio)

Association of Journalists of Serbia in Kosovo, called upon local authorities to openly present their work and timely inform the media about the organization of events and public hearings, without selection, so the citizens can have insight into their work, KIM Radio reported.

As UNS press statement reads the municipality of Mitrovica North, invited only TV Most to cover the public hearing on the budget held yesterday, and announced the event on the municipal notice board.

Media urged to join protest on World Press Freedom Day (media)

NUNS, UNS and the Nezavisnost media branch trade union are urging media to stop broadcasting Wednesday within the "Five minutes of thunderous silence" campaign.

In separate statements, the journalist associations said the traditional campaign is a warning to the public about the never-worst position of the journalistic profession in Serbia.
