Vucic: No European prospects if Kosovo remains frozen conflict (TV N1, BETA)

Serbia will have no European prospects if Kosovo conflict remains frozen, President Aleksandar Vucic warned on Tuesday.

“If the Kosovo conflict remains frozen you can be sure there will be no European prospects, you can be sure investments will drop,” Vucic told Serbian reporters after his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Serbia will have Macron’s support in finding a compromise solution for Kosovo, Vucic said, adding that he is hoping for the same from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “In that case there is some hope,” he said.

SDS said in a press statement, Tadic invites Vucic to a TV duel, not as representative of the opposition, but as a former President “who is being accused daily for a national treason and exposed to lies related to decisions and the consequences of such decisions during the time of his presidential mandate.”

Serbia’s academic calls on President to resign over Kosovo (N1)

Dusan Teodorovic, a member of Serbia’s Academy of Sciences and Arts, called on Monday on President Aleksandar Vucic to resign for failing to solve the problem of Kosovo after six years of negotiations.

Speaking to N1 Belgrade morning talk show, Teodorovic said Vucic should resign after saying that Serbia has nothing in Kosovo today, and that "even a meter of Kosovo is a gain."

Serbian President Aleksadar Vucic said he "does not intend to hide behind the people when it comes to Kosovo - as some claim he would."

Speaking on Wednesday in Kraljevo, central Serbia, where he attended the police-military exercise Joint Strike, the President Vucic also said that "the citizens will be the ones who will decide on their future."

"Some mind me saying that I will not be making a decision on the solution for Kosovo and Metohija without asking the citizens and claim I would ask them in order to hide behind them, use them as a fig leaf," Vucic said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is likely to meet again in Brussels in two weeks with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, reported yesterday Belgrade based daily Blic.

The daily stated that the information was confirmed in the cabinet of President Vucic.

The continuation of the dialogue in such a short time could mean a practical intensification of the process, about what talked and Mogherini after the meeting in Brussels on Sunday, the daily noted.
