President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said at the summit of European countries Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committees taking place in Pristina that the EU often lacks vision and leadership and thus risks becoming a bureaucratic institution detached from its citizens. “One of those speaking strongly about Brussels lacking vision is me but there is no other alternative for us nor are we seeking a different one,” Thaci said.

However, this is not the end of the fight for our national interests, says Aleksandra Djurovic, the head of Serbia's delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Serbia's delegation succeeded in preventing the adoption of a memorandum which would have given several seats to representatives of the Kosovo Assembly in the plenary hall in Strasbourg, as well as the opportunity to participate in discussions, suggest proposals, and sign draft resolutions.

Head of the Serbian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Aleksandra Djurović, said that the Serbian party managed to prevent Kosovo delegation to gain the authorization for participation at the sessions of this Assembly.

According to her, Pristina delegation was prevented to propose and sign resolutions at this body of the Council of Europe.

The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament have come to terms over the mechanism that would allow to suspend visa-free agreements which needed to be done before Ukraine, Georgia and Kosovo could be granted visa-free travel rights, a source in the EU Council told TASS.

"Yes, during inter-institutional consultations a compromise has been reached on a mechanism to suspend visa-free accords," the source said. Now this decision needs to be approved at a European Parliament session.

The Foreign policy of Estonia will not change when it comes to Kosovo, while chairing the Council of Europe.

We have no specific focus on the subjects that concern Kosovo, but if Kosovo decides to start with the application process for the membership in the CoE, we shall treat this candidacy in accordance with the CoE procedures, told Danas, the Estonian Foreign ministry, answering the question what will be the attitude of that country towards Kosovo during the chairmanship of the CoE, which started last week.

At a meeting in Sofia, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić said that for Serbia the only acceptable engagement of the Council of Europe in Kosovo was the status-neutral, with respect of the UN Security Council resolution 1244.

Dačić said, addressing the participants of 126th ministerial meeting of the Council of Europe in Sofia that he expected the Council of Europe would continue to adhere to its consistent principled stance.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe today will discuss and vote the draft resolution titled "The situation in Kosovo and the role of the Council of Europe". This draft-resolution was initially voted in the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy.

The Pristina delegation at the Council of Europe could soon include Kosovo Serbs. The draft resolution from the report by Spanish rapporteur Agustin Conde (which will be discussed by the CoE on Thursday) recommends that the Pristina team also include minorities. Since 2013, Pristina has had two political representatives from the Assembly who are able participate in the work of various Commissions. They have the right to express their voices, but not to vote.

The Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE adopted in Brussels, the preliminary draft resolution "The situation in Kosovo and the role of the Council of Europe." The report deals with the issues related to the respect for human rights, rule of law, the position of minorities in Kosovo and democracy.
