The president of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, hosted a meeting with the chiefs of the missions of the EU member states accredited to Kosovo.
After the meeting he held a press conference where he spoke about Kosovo’s path towards the EU.
He said that Kosovo is contributor of the stability in Balkans and that Kosovo’s path is integration in the EU.
Kosovo government spokesperson, Arban Abrashi, confirmed for the portal that the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, will participate together with the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, at the meeting that will be held on Tuesday in Brussels.
Kosovo Assembly independent MP, Ilir Deda, considers that strengthening the Kosovo Security Force into army of Kosovo should be the response to the threat of the Serbian President. “Strengthening the KSF into the Army of Kosovo should be the response of Kosovo toward Belgrade’s threat, where the President of Serbia states that “what I said about sending the army, derives from the conclusions of the Council for National Security,” Dedaj wrote on his Facebook page.
Kosovo’s Minister for Internal Affairs, Skender Hyseni reported to the Commission for Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the KSF, regarding the recent events, concretely Serbia’s attempt to send the train to Kosovo. He said that the Ministry was in continuous coordination with the Kosovo Police ever since the announcement about the train. “We have also requested from the international community to request from Serbia not to send the train and not to force us use force.
The Foreign Minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Nikola Popov, assesses that it is not proper or suitable for Albania and Kosovo to interfere on the internal affairs of FYROM. “It is not decent and not appropriate when the Prime Minister or the President of the neighboring country interferes directly on the internal affairs, especially during the period of implementation of the elections in e democratic manner and prior to the creation of the government. Wrong messages are being sent in the region.
The Government of Kosovo approved today the proposal for establishment of a commission of experts that will carry out the measuring of Kosovo territory. Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci said the experts will measure the territory of Kosovo prior to 25 August 2015 up to the signing of the agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said earlier that the goal of the commission would be to prove to the citizens and legislators that Kosovo has not lost any territory to Montenegro through the border demarcation process.
Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci, said in today’s meeting of the Advisory Council for Communities, that 2016 has been a successful year for this mechanism. “The state of Kosovo is built on the principles of respect and protection of human rights. Kosovo’s institutions are working on the implementation of these rights for all citizens and without any differences. Kosovo is home to all its citizens. By working together we will build new bridges of coexistence,” President Thaci said.
The Budget and Finance Committee submitted to the Kosovo Assembly today the draft law on budget for 2017. Five members of the Committee voted in favor of this bill, while three were against. The budget for the next year is expected to be around 2 billion euros. Indeksonline reports that the bill will be discussed at the Kosovo Assembly during next week, while the ruling coalition representatives called on the opposition parties to cooperate on this issue.
The news website reports that according to Kosovo government officials, the agreement on the border demarcation with Montenegro will be sent back to Parliament next month. Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said recently that the opposition and the Serbian List are responsible for blocking the border demarcation with Montenegro and visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said in the meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council that Kosovo has made significant progress in the fight against corruption. He said that the latest Transparency International report highlights a difference between the perception of citizens regarding corruption level in Kosovo and the reality. He also said that fifty officials are under investigation for corrupt activity and that there is a large number of indictments made on organised crime charges.
