Jablanovic: We became part of Kosovo institutions for Serbia’s interests (Kosova Press)

Aleksandar Jablanovic, former Communities and Returns Minister, said on Wednesday that they as representatives of Serbs in Kosovo have completed their tasks, and now the government of Kosovo should be constructive and carry out its duties. He added that the Serbian List have become part of the Kosovo institutions for Serbia’s interest and not for personal or party interests. "Unfortunately, today there are people who think they cleanse Kosovo, but I'm sure that amongst Albanians there are people with whom we can find common language and deals.

Dutch ambassador: Rejecting special court will harm Kosovo (KosovaPress)

The Dutch Ambassador to Kosovo, Robert Bosch, said on Monday that if Kosovo fails to establish special court, then Kosovo would have a United Nations court. "For Kosovo, it is better to have a special court, rather than a UN court, since there are countries that are not good friends with Kosovo and they have a great influence,” Bosch said. He said he expects that special court would be located in Netherlands, although, according to him, there is still no final decision on its location.

Jahjaga: Peoples’ frustration and pressure on institutions has increased (Kosovapress)

President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga told representatives of international organisations and embassies in Kosovo that Kosovo did not have a good year. She mentioned early elections, the lengthy and complicated process for formation of the government and the irregular migration as some of the difficult challenges Kosovo had to face this year. “Our growing pains have brought added pressures to the institutions of Kosovo and have added to the frustration of the citizens of Kosovo and its supporters abroad. Despite these downfalls, I have seen Kosovo rise stronger every time.

Collaku: European Parliament’s resolution supports Kosovo’s EU integration (Kosova Press)

Kosovo’s Minister of European Integration, Bekim Collaku, said on Thursday that the resolution adopted by European Parliament on Wednesday gives Kosovo strong support to the European prospects and that the European Parliament remains one of the most supportive institutions of Kosovo and its European integration process.  Collaku added that Kosovo government welcomes the recommendations contained in this resolution dealing with reforms in the areas of rule of law, justice, public administration and  commitment to fighting organized crime and corrup

Ombudsman: Jahjaga, Zbogar and Meucci are hindering investigations on “Hasani case” (KosovaPress)

Kosovo’s Ombudsman, Sami Kurteshi, through a press release informed the public that the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga; European Union Special Representative, Samuel Zbogar and EULEX Head of Mission, Gabriele Meucci, are hindering investigations of the Ombudsman institution over allegations of legal and constitutional violations committed by the President of the Constitutional Court, Enver Hasani.

Mustafa and Rama agree to strengthen economic cooperation (Kosovapress, Telegrafi)

Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama met in Tirana today his Kosovo counterpart, Isa Mustafa. This is Prime Minister Mustafa’s first official visit to Albania since taking on his post. The two prime ministers spoke about strengthening economic cooperation and the upcoming joint meeting of the two governments. In a press conference after the meeting, Mustafa expressed appreciation for valuable support Albania has provided to Kosovo. He said Kosovo needs new recognitions.

Bachus: Corruption in Kosovo, impeding economic development (KosovaPress)

The United States Deputy Ambassador to Kosovo, Jennifer Bachus, said on Friday that corruption in Kosovo is impeding economic development because it is affecting all levels of society.  Bachus also said that the U.S. has supported and will strongly support Kosovo's development in all fields. According to her, all people should unite to implement the ambitious program of government, adding that the justice sector is essential. Bachus made these comments during the High Level Forum organized by Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.

Albania Minister of Labor and Social Welfare visits Kosovo (KosovaPress)

Albania Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Erion Veliaj is visiting Kosovo on Friday. Veliaj met with his Kosovo counterpart, Arban Abrashi. Veliaj and Abrashi discussed  the importance of cooperation in the field of professional training, and agreed that the Kosovo to remove the work permit for Albanian citizens. Both sides concluded a cooperation agreement in the field of employment, professional training and pensions, and vowed to work in other areas of mutual interest.

A vehicle with Belgrade license plates burned in Mitrovica North (Kosova Press)

A Mercedes Benz vehicle with Belgrade license plates was burned on Monday at around 04:00 hours in Mitrovica North. Fortunately, except for entire burning of the vehicle, there are no other  material damages or casualties. It was learned that the owner of the vehicle is a Kosovo Serb, who used to work as customs officer. Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the north, Besim Hoti, confirmed the burning of the vehicle.
