The leader of the Vetevendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, said today at the roundtable organized by this party that the law on KSF is not transforming it into an army as expected, instead it is only expanding its competencies.

Ymeri said that creation of the army has been promised ever since the liberation of Kosovo. According to him, constitutional amendments that would allow creation of Armed Forces were made before the 2014 elections.

President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said postponing decision on Haradinaj’s release is “an injustice on so many fronts.” He said international justice continues to be influenced by Serb politics. Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, called for an end to Serbia’s arrest warrants against Kosovo Liberation Army fighters. He said the court’s decision to postpone was “unacceptable.”

On the Albanian Flag Day, a large red and black banner depicting Vetevendosje activist Astrit Dehari and calling for justice regarding his death at the Prizren detention facility, was put up in one of the buildings at the Pristina center. Vetevendosje leader, Visar Ymeri, said that this year, 28 November will be dedicated to Dehari. Ymeri said Dehari was much more than a son and a political activist. “Astrit today is the truth of this state and political regime installed in the Republic of Kosovo,” Ymeri said.

The leader of the Vetëvendosje movement, Visar Ymeri, has requested through a status on his Facebook profile from the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, not to go to Belgrade where the future of the Albanian-Serbian relations will be discussed.

“The PM of Albania, Edi Rama, is expected to participate tomorrow at a panel with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Vučić, to discuss on “The future of Serb-Albanian relations as well as stability in Southeastern Europe.

Vetevendosje leader, Visa Ymeri, took to Facebook to comment on the recent decision of the Kosovo government to submit to the Assembly draft law on the Trepca mining complex. According to Ymeri, the bill has a series of flaws and if not amended, it will fail to save Trepca. He said the government of Kosovo plans to privatise the mine. “All investing modalities in Trepca foreseen in the law are privatising modalities”, wrote Ymeri. He added that Kosovo needs a law on Trepca but it should be aimed at transforming it into a public enterprise with a special status.

The Kosovo Assembly’s Committee for Economic Development adopted today in the first reading the draft law on the Trepca mining complex, which will be discussed at the plenary assembly session on Friday. Serbian List representative, Sasa Milosavljevic, said Serb MPs would not vote in favour of the draft law in its current content. He also criticised the government for not inviting Serb representatives to attend discussions on the draft law.

Vetëvendosje leader, Visar Ymeri, said that the arrest of the Kosovo Police director for Mitrovica region, Nehat Thaçi, by Serbian authorities on terrorism charges shows to what degree the government of Kosovo has yielded to Serbia. “Serbia is not only not being conditioned for what it did during the war but it is also damaging us in peacetime while our government leaders keep silent and trust in Serbia’s mercy”, said Ymeri. He said that only through a conditioning policy will Serbia change. “Any other action leads to new arrests and other similar moves”, added Ymeri.

Vetevendosje leader, Visar Ymeri, told a press conference in Pristina today that the Vetevendosje activists, who were arrested by police today over their alleged participation in a bomb attack on the Kosovo Assembly on August 4, are innocent and that the weapons seized during the raids today have nothing to do with the bomb attack. Telegrafi quotes Ymeri as saying, “the Kosovo Police is continuing to frame cases against Vetevendosje activists with the same methods previously used by the Serbian State Security Service”.

In an interview for Tirana-based Shekulli newspaper, Vetëvendosje leader Visar Ymeri said the opposition and his party are determined to reject the border-demarcation deal with Montenegro, “because Kosovo will lose over 8,200 hectares”. Ymeri said the Vetëvendosje Movement would use all its human and logistical capacity to prevent the current version of the border deal. “The government decided to send the draft law to the Assembly regardless of a recent open debate that showed that the agreement is unfair.

Vetëvendosje leader Visar Ymeri told a press conference in Pristina today that a popular protest will be held on September 1 in Pristina to reject the border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro. “The Kosovo Government is working against the interests of the people and the state. If this agreement is implemented, Kosovo will lose its precious peaks, springs and other wealth. Those that have seized the state are trying to push forward this agreement.
