The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, said in an interview for the paper that even if it is decided that opposition parties cannot form a government and new elections are scheduled, the main opposition parties – the LDK, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Initiative for Kosovo and Vetevendosje – will run together as a bloc against Hashim Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).

Sources told the paper that the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Catherine Ashton, had a telephone conversation yesterday with the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, but no details as to what was discussed were provided.

Citing reliable sources, Gazeta Express reports that LDK leader Isa Mustafa, AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj and Nisma leader Fatmir Limaj have signed a coalition agreement. According to the news agency, the three leaders have agreed for Haradinaj to be the next prime minister of Kosovo. “The LDK, AAK and Nisma have agreed not to enter a coalition agreement with the PDK. Mustafa and Limaj have agreed for Haradinaj to get the post of Prime Minister in a joint government,” a source told the paper.

Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) have met in Pristina today to discuss the election process and its aftermath.

Asked by Klan Kosova if he will withdraw from his insistence to become prime minister, Haradinaj said now is not the right time to discuss the matter. Mustafa on the other hand said he would not insist on the post in a possible coalition.

The Vetevendosje Movement will hold talks with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Nisma, to block the formation of the government by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti on Monday talked about the possibility of a united opposition block that would prevent a PDK-led government.

The paper reports in a front-page article that Isa Mustafa has ruled out his resignation from the post of leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) after his party failed to win the 8 June national elections. After the meeting of the LDK chairmanship, Mustafa told reporters he has a lot of work to do. “We have much more important things to do now… Elections [in the LDK] will be held in autumn this year,” Mustafa was quoted as saying. Mustafa also said that the LDK chairmanship did not discuss a possible coalition with the PDK. “We did not discuss this issue.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) expressed regret about the phenomenon of ballot stuffing from PDK supporters, which allegedly occurred yesterday in a few voting centers in Skenderaj/Srbica. The LDK called on the relevant institutions to take the necessary measures to protect the voting process. The LDK strongly affirmed that it would not accept any result based on fraud.
