NATO for portal KoSSev: ''All to demonstrate restraint in actions and statements; support for the dialogue''

''A shock message by the Alliance to the Serbs, NATO: Take the north of Kosovo, we will not interfere'' – Belgrade tabloids wrote early in the week, referring to the idea of the chair of the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies, Jelena Milic, wrote Kosovo north portal KoSSev.

KoSSev added that Milic, for years, has openly advocated what was perceived in Serbia as a pro-NATO stance, while recently, since last year, she also represented the ideas interpreted as a proponent of the partition of Kosovo along ethnic lines.

KFOR: Warehouse containing toxic substances in Djakovica is closing, citizens’ safety was jeopardized (KoSSev)

KFOR’s mission as part of the monitoring of all facilities storing toxic chemicals estimated it is necessary to remove toxic substances from a warehouse in Djakovica because they pose a life-threatening hazard, KoSSev portal reported.

KFOR experts inspected the facility in Djakovica yesterday. Chemicals will be moved to a new, safer warehouse, away from the populated area – it was said in a statement.

KFOR spokesman says ROSU intervened after shots fired at police (Politika, B92, N1, Tanjug)

KFOR spokesman Colonel Vincenzo Grasso told Belgrade daily Politika that the Kosovo police special unit ROSU intervened after shots were fired at police officers in the north of Kosovo.

“Shots were fired at the regular police after the road to Zubin Potok was blocked and a police officer was wounded. Opening fire at the police and obstructing their operations is against the law. The intervention by the Kosovo police special unit was just a reaction to that violent behaviour,” Grasso said.

Grasso: KFOR cannot give information on behalf of others (Danas)

KFOR Spokesperson Vincenzo Grasso told Belgrade based daily Danas that there is a lot of discussion about whether an information is given but one can check that during the interview for TV Prva, he said that "everyone was informed", which meant that the information was previously disclosed.

He added that KFOR cannot provide the information on behalf of other and specifies that there was no reason to react to the police action, conducted in order to reduce the crime rate, which is beneficial to everyone.

Vulin: Thaci's statement is the killing of dialogue (KIM radio, TV Pink)

Statement by Hashim Thaci that Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) will not be formed is the best test for the authority of the European Union, said Aleksandar Vulin, Serbian Minister of Defense, reports KIM radio, quoting Belgrade based TV Pink.

According to Vulin, if this statement goes without sanctions, it will mean that the EU is leaving the Western Balkans both in diplomatic and security terms.

Stefanovic: The state of full combat readiness continues; not true that KFOR informed us (RTS)

Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic spoke this morning for the RTS morning news where he said that the army of Serbia and the police remain in full combat readiness, following the Kosovo special forces incursion in the North of Kosovo. Stefanovic adds it will remain so if there are estimations that it is necessary.

Speaking about KFOR's allegations that Belgrade was informed of the action, the minister said it was an attempt to make a spin and that it was absolutely incorrect.
