AAK decides on internal party elections (Gazeta Blic)

The General Council of Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) decided that AAK will launch internal party elections on 21 March. Ramush Haradinaj, the leader of AAK  announced that the internal elections will have far-reaching reforms of the party and “all those who eventually are involved in racketeering will have no place in this party”.

Mustafa: LDK will lead the government (Gazeta Express)

Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), writes on his Facebook account today: “Last night, after lengthy discussions and taking into account the situation in the country, we agreed in principle with Mr. Hashim Thaci, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, to reach a coalition agreement for the new government. The government will be led by the LDK and responsibilities will be divided equally on all levels. Present at the discussions were the President of Kosovo and the United States Ambassador.

Haziri: No to the PDK. Prime Minister post belongs to LDK (Gazeta Blic)

Lutfi Haziri, member of the chairmanship of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), told reporters in Pristina today that LDK will continue to meet heads of branches and other structures before the meeting of the LDK General Assembly on Wednesday afternoon. “In line with the post-election coalition agreement and with respect to our role and the roles of our partners, we are trying to find a way forward for the establishment of institutions and to end the political stalemate that has engulfed Kosovo since 10 June,” Haziri said after today’s meeting of the LDK chairmanship.

Coalition bloc meets without LDK leader (Lajmi)

Leaders of the coalition bloc, except for LDK leader Isa Mustafa, met today to discuss the crisis of the coalition after the decision to give way on the post of Assembly Speaker. Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti met to discuss the LDK’s request to redesign the 10 June agreement. No media statement was issued after the meeting.

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), said today that the process of forming new institutions should be concluded in line with the agreement between the coalition partners. Leader of the Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, said the Bloc’s agreement will not be redesigned. “I have not been asked to give up the post of prime minister and such a thing will not happen”, said Haradinaj after meeting leaders of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje. Haradinaj said they will address once again Flora Brovina and ask her to call a new Assembly session where the MPs would be able to discuss ways to overcome the political blockade.

Leader of Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) and post-election coalition’s candidate for prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj, said after meeting leaders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) that he will Flora Brovina to call the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly.

He accused the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) for the current political situation in Kosovo. He said just as the party has captured Kosovo, so has its leader, Hashim Thaci, and Assembly’s chairperson, Flora Brovina, captured the Assembly.

The refusal of President Atifete Jahjaga to address the Constitutional Court asking it to clarify item 127 of its recent ruling on election of Assembly speaker has caused disappointment with the leaders of the post-election coalition made of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA). The Bloc’s candidate for prime minister and leader of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, said he does not agree with Jahjaga’s move not to send the request to the Constitutional Court.

Leader of Alliance for Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said after a meeting of the post-election bloc that “there is no power in the world to force us to make a coalition with PDK”. He said they are not refusing meeting the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Hashim Thaci, but that they simply don’t want him as a coalition partner.

Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), told reporters after the meeting of the coalition bloc with minority communities, that they discussed delays in the formation of new institutions. Haradinaj said minority communities don’t support the option of new parliamentary elections and that he received assurances from communities that they would support the majority. Haradinaj further said the coalition bloc will ask President Atifete Jahjaga to seek additional explanations from the Constitutional Court about Point 127.
