The big clean-up should begin on 8 June (Koha Ditore)

Enver Robelli in his weekly column says the outgoing prime minister Thaci is so scared of the possibility of losing 8 June elections that he has started to act and speak as if sleepwalking. He is making promises which, in Robelli’s view, are ‘gigantic lies’ pulled out of a sack full of rotten fruits. Most recently, Thaci posted a picture of him in a field of flowers taken somewhere in Kosovo along with a caption praising Kosovo’s landscape.

They are even more active in social networks than they are in real life, Veliu says. Northern mayor against participation in elections (Kim radio, B92)

Zubin Potok Mayor Stevan Vulović has said that it was his "personal stance" that Serbs should not take part in the election in Kosovo scheduled for June 8. 

"Priština is attempting, via all its institutions, to make the life meaningless for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, and it is my position, which does not mean it will be our final position - that under these conditions we will not participate in the election," Vulović told Beta.

Serbs south of the Ibar/Ibër River to go to the polls, but not from the north (Politika)

Mitrovica - Serbs south of the Ibar/Ibër River will go to the polls in early parliamentary elections on June 8th, while their compatriots from the north, because of the conditions imposed by Pristina, will not, unofficially learns Politika. Representatives of the Serbian list from northern Kosovo say that they cannot go to the polls under the conditions which require threshold of 70 000 for the 11th mandate, where the ballots are with the insignia of the state of Kosovo, and where procedure on election boards is violated.

Nikolic: KiM elections pose a challenge (Tanjug)

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said in a meeting with British Minister for Europe David Lidington on Monday that the government of Serbia will take a joint stance on whether to invite Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) to vote in the June 8 elections, considering the questionable conditions under which the citizens would vote and what they would gain from it. Lidington voiced the opinion that the Serbs should participate in the upcoming KiM elections in order to achieve democratic legitimacy and the capacity to engage with the international community, the president's press service

Lidington: Serbs should vote on 8 June (Lajm)

The British Minister for Europe, David Lidington, said that the stance of London is that Kosovo Serbs should vote on 8 June in order for the elections to have international legitimacy. Meanwhile, the British Ambassador in Kosovo, Ian Cliff, informed Serb politicians in the north that symbols of the “Republic of Kosovo” will not be removed from ballots and that an election boycott would hurt Kosovo Serbs.

Serbs waiting for instructions from Belgrade (Koha Ditore)

The paper reports in a front-page story that the Serb minority in Kosovo is waiting for instructions from Belgrade before they decide whether or not to participate in Kosovo’s parliamentary elections on 8 June. Despite highlighting the importance of elections, senior Serbian officials have yet to call on Kosovo Serbs to take part in them.
