The rhetoric of Belgrade's representatives shows that agreement on normalization relations with Pristina is nowhere in sight, according to the Belgrade based daily Danas.

The latest message from Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that it is "difficult for them (the West) to come up with a new proposal, because big Western powers proceed from the territorial issue of Kosovo being resolved by gaining its independence" - is Belgrade's response to the "Quint" (US, Germany, UK, France and Italy) offer "to untangle the Kosovo knot."

Diplomatic sources of Danas and international relations experts do not exclude completely the possibility of Serbia changing the foreign policy course, but they assess that Belgrade will endeavour in maintaining the current position of balancing between the West and Russia.

According to interlocutors of Danas, any changes in foreign policy will depend largely on the next phase of resolving the Kosovo issue.

“I still invite Aleksandar Vucic to accept a TV duel on public service RTS and enable citizens to hear a complete truth on the genesis of creation and resolution of the Kosovo issue,” former President of Serbia Boris Tadic said in a written statement, Danas daily reported.

Tadic also said he does not invite Aleksandar Vucic to a TV duel as representative of the opposition, but as a former President of Serbia.

The new meeting of Serbian and Kosovo President Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci, with the EU mediation, to be held in Brussels on Friday, a preparation for a new phase of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, writes the Belgrade daily Danas.
