The October 6 elections have changed the political situation in Kosovo, one of the conclusions of the panel "Prospects for normalization and dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina" held in Belgrade, with participants - Serbian and Albanian analysts - who all agree that a final agreement between the two sides will not come anytime soon.
Ivan Vejvoda, associate of the Institute of Social Sciences in Vienna, told RTK2 that frequent visits by international officials to Belgrade and Pristina are aimed at encouraging the continuation of a dialogue that will lead to finding a mutually acceptable solution that must be verified by the UN Security Council.
Ivica Dacic, the chief of Serbia's diplomacy, said on Wednesday he had invited Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, to visit Serbia, the Beta news agency quoted his Ministry’s statement as saying.
The European Union will do everything in order that an agreement is reached next year on the overall normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations, Belgrade-based news agency Tanjug reports, citing diplomatic sources in Brussels.
"We will do everything in the year that has remained to achieve a comprehensive normalization of relations, but we are not the only ones of whom this depends," diplomatic sources in Brussels told Tanjug.
Ragmi Mustafa says "there cannot be normalization" between Belgrade and Pristina "without inclusion of the Presevo valley."
Mustafa is the new President of the Albanian Minority National Council in Serbia.
"Presevo valley" is the informal name for a region in the southern part of central Serbia that has ethnic Albanian minorities in three of its largest towns: Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja.
German Ambassador to Serbia Thomas Schieb once again expressed the view that Germany is concerned and sceptical about the idea of exchanging territories, because that solution, as he said, could create even bigger problems in the medium and long term, Belgrade based daily Blic reports.
The EU Council of Ministers hails Serbia's progress in membership negotiations, according to a draft resolution from an EU foreign ministers' meeting.
A dialogue simulation is taking place in Brussels and all participants are aware of this. The Brussels dialogue has hit a dead end. On one hand, there is a virtual image of media-political reality, while on the other it is contrasted to the reality in the field.

A possible meeting between Kosovo’s and Serbia’s presidents under the European Union’s auspices by June 25 could help Belgrade open new chapters in its accession talks with Brussels, a daily reported on Friday.
