Slobodan Petrovic, Deputy President of the Kosovo Assembly considers that the election of Hashim Thaci for President is the best solution in this situation, although Belgrade accused Thaci for war crimes and organ trafficking. "Hashim Thaci is the only candidate for president, proposed by the ruling coalition. He is the best solution for this position, considering the current situation in Kosovo. If he is not elected, elections will be scheduled, and this will further complicate the situation in Kosovo," said Petrovic.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic and Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic met yesterday with US Senator Robert Corker. The topics of the meeting were security and the political situation in Kosovo and the process of return. Stojanovic informed Senator Corker and a delegation from the United States about the current security and political situation in Kosovo. He stressed the importance of the formation of the Association / Community of Serb Municipalities and implementation of the Brussels agreement.

The Basic Court in Pec/Peja issued an indictment against 14 Serbs from Klina, charging them with war crimes in Kosovo, in 1999. The Serbian Government Office for Kosovo issued a statement on the decision, stressing that this is another attempt at obstructing the return of expelled Serbs, who are actually the main victims of the Kosovo conflict.

The Association of Montenegrins of Kosovo has condemned the removal of the ‘St. Radovan Zogović’ street name board  in Pristina, which had been damaged on several occasions in the past. The Association communicated to media that this street is now called St. Lorenc Antoni, and added that by this act, the authorities of Pristina have shown their true colors with regards to the domestic and international public and sent a clear message that Montenegrins are not welcomed in Pristina.

The War Crimes Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia sent to the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requests for interview with Dr Philip Njemanze, a doctor who said that Hashim Thaci, together with Rochas Okorocha, traded the organs of kidnapped Serbs in Kosovo. The prosecution office sent request in accordance with provisions of the Law on International Legal Assistance.

“The Serbian community in Kosovo is aware of the fact that kidnapped Serbian civilians have fallen victim to crime before, during and after armed conflict, and that there are indications that many of the current Albanian political leaders participated in the massacre of civilians and in organ trafficking,” said President of the Serbian List Slavko Simić.

Commenting on the statement by the Kosovo Government Minister Edita Tahiri, that the Statute of the Association / Community of Serb Municipalities (A/CSM) will be drafted by Pristina and not Serbia, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić stated that he wonders whether the representatives of the two delegations were at the same meeting. However, he believes that Brussels officials know how to assess who speaks the truth. "For me regional stability is more important than cheap political points," said Vučić.

By presenting a Serbian List representative as candidate for President of Kosovo, the Serbs would be helping Hashim Thaci, said analyst Nexhmedin Spahiu. He explained that in these circumstances the election of Thaci for President of Kosovo does not depend on the votes of the Serbian deputies in Parliament. However, according to voting procedure, elections must be held between at least two candidates.

Kosovo Minister of Local Government Administration Ljubomir Maric said that the Serbs would rather present their own candidate for President of Kosovo, than support another candidate, stressing that the election of the President was never the subject of the coalition agreement. Maric said that no one spoke with Serb representatives about support for the presidential candidate, and responding to the question of whether they do have a candidate, he said: "We want the Community of Serb municipalities (ZSO)."

Abbess of Sokolica monastery, Makarija, said that the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) in Kosovo are indisputable church belongings. "The property of SPC was registered long ago in historic deeds, and more recently in the cadaster of each municipality. The assets of Sokolica monastery, and of all other monasteries and temples, are indisputable SPC property," said Abbess Makarija.
