"All Brussels deal commitments must be implemented" (B92, CORD, Tanjug)

BELGRADE -- "All existing commitments" under the Brussels agreement will need to be implemented for chapter 35 in Serbia's EU talks to be opened, says Johannes Hahn.

The EU commissioner for regional policy told the Belgrade-based CorD Magazine that "although some good progress has been made, there is still more to be done."

President receives army chief in wake of accusations (B92, Tanjug)

BELGRADE -- President Tomislav Nikolic believes that "attacks on the (army) chief of staff" are an attempt to "humiliate everything good done in Serbia" recently.

Nikolic received General Ljubisa Dikovic on Friday morning in the Presidency, a day after it the Humanitarian Law Center (FHP) NGO accused the Serbian Army (VS) chief of being responsible for war crimes.

Dacic to travel to Pristina in late March (B92)

BELGRADE -- Ivica Dacic visited the OSCE Mission in Belgrade on Thursday and announced that he will also visit the missions in Skopje and Podgorica in February.

The Serbian foreign minister and OSCE chairperson-in-office added he would travel to the OSCE mission in Pristina in March.

Speaking about the visit to the OSCE mission in Pristina, the Serbian foreign minister said that the visit "will not have a status character," Tanjug said.

UNMIK: Violence has nothing to do with the exercise of the democratic right (RTK2, Politika, Vecernje Novosti, Blic, B92, TV Most, Tanjug, Kontakt Plus Radio, IRS)

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Kosovo, Farid Zarif, commended proportionate response of the police during yesterday unrest in Pristina, and said that democratic rights are not exercised through violence.

UNMIK expressed concern by the recent events in Pristina city centre. Such acts have nothing to do with the exercise of the democratic right to express legitimate grievances, stated UN mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

"Serbia's property can't be taken without asking" (B92)

The Serbian government is "acting responsibly over the Trepca case and other property issues in Kosovo and Metohija, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said.

"Everyone must understand that they cannot take away everything from Serbia without asking anything," Tanjug quoted him as saying on Sunday.

"Compromises will have to be made in solving property issues in Kosovo and Metohija," Vucic told TV Prva, but noted that he can "by no means agree with those who have recognized Kosovo's independence and who claim and insist that everything there belongs to them."

Serbia "not Russian, not anybody else's puppet" - PM (B92)

DAVOS -- Aleksandar Vucic says it is possible to foster friendly relations with Russia and be a member of the EU at the same time, and that Serbia is "nobody's puppet."

"Serbia is not Russia's or anyone else's puppet," the prime minister told the Swiss tabloid Blick, adding that he "said in Russian President Vladimir Putin's presence that Serbia wished to join the EU."

Vucic stressed Serbia is "close to Russia,"but its goal was to be part of the EU, and that he "hoped and was doing everything to make that happen in 2019."
