UNMIK and EULEX missions with a large number of prosecutors failed to solve murders and abductions of journalists, and local prosecutors are expected now to redeem what the international ones failed to do.
And this should be done with only two prosecutors, says Drita Hajdari, a war crimes prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor Office of Kosovo, in an interview for the Dossier on kidnapped and murdered journalists and media workers.
The Basic Court in Pec judge Sul Lokaj made decision to extend the house arrest to Klina returnee Milorad Zajic for two more months, KIM Radio reported.
Kosovo Special Prosecution suspects Zajic of committing a war crime, as he allegedly at the end of the 1999 conflict, as a police member took part in burning Albanian houses. He was arrested on 19 March 2018, and a day later placed under house arrest.

“His detention is annulled. The decision says there are no reasons for detention any longer, without providing any other details. However, he was most probably arrested as he has the same name as someone else they are looking for,” Vlajic further explained.
Basic Court in Mitrovica has found Zoran Vukotic, a former police reserve, guilty of war crimes against Albanian civilian population and has sentenced him to six and a half years in prison. Vukotic was convicted for illegal detention and cruel and inhumane treatment of persons in the detention centre of Smrekovnica but was acquitted of the charge relating to the attack on a convoy of Albanian civilians in the village of Studime.
Chair of the Basic Court Council in Prizren, Artan Sejrani hold a first hearing for accused Darko Tasic from Mala Krusa, KIM Radio reported.
EULEX international prosecutor read an indictment accusing Tasic of committing two acts of war crime, while Tasic pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A regular UN Security Council session on Kosovo will be held on Monday in New York. Serbia is represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.
The session will discuss the UN secretary-general's report on the work of the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, covering the period from January 17 to April 15.
At the Jarinje crossing in northern Kosovo, D. S. (44) was arrested on suspicion of committing war crimes in Kosovo, reports Serbian media based in Kosovo.
D.S. who lived in Obilic until 2003, and currently lives in Lazarevac, was arrested at the Jarinje crossing, and he was given a measure of detention for up to 48 hours.
Kosovo Special Prosecutor for war crimes, Habibe Salihu interrogated today Milorad Zajic, returnee from Klina, within the investigation on events that took place during the conflict in the village of Dusevic.
Milorad Zajic is suspected “of taking part in disappearance” of the three members of the Mrmulaku family in June 1998, when there were war actions in the village.
Kosovo Humanitarian Law Centre (HLC) said that during the court proceeding against the Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Fatmir Limaj in Djakovica Basic Court, some prosecution witnesses gave up on accusing testimonies they made in earlier hearings, therefore become witnesses of the opposite party in the case, Insajder portal reported.
The Basic Court in Djakovica rejected a lawsuit for the war crimes against Limaj in the case of a murder of two persons in 1998 in the municipality of Malisevo.
Serbian Justice Minister, Nela Kuburovic told RTS Serbia remains committed to achieving the justice for Serbian victims of the war crimes, pointing out that the Serbian victims did not find the justice before the international bodies.
Kuburovic made these remarks during the visit to the Memorial Room of Kosovo victims, adding that the first indictments at the Special Court for KLA crimes are expected at the beginning of the next year, RTS further reported.
