Novosti: EU lost credibility, Russia and China bring back Kosovo to East River (Vecernje Novosti)

Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti writes today that since the EU has lost credibility as a mediator in Belgrade-Pristina talks, chances are growing for Kosovo to get back to the UN. Moscow and Beijing could negotiate about that with Washington in the coming days.

Serbian Chamber of Commerce wrote to EU over Pristina’s taxes (BETA, KoSSev)

Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced it has sent a letter to the highest officials of European Union, European Commission, European Parliament and European Council, calling on them to influence Pristina authorities and help in revoking decision on introduction of 100 percent taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, BETA news agency reports.

Brnabic: Not weapons and army, but education and schools (Tanjug, B92)

Our focus is on schools and education, and not on the army and weapons, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said, adding neither yesterday, nor ever before she was calling for war, B92 reports.

Brnabic told this to the journalists in Belgrade, adding she regrets the way how certain international media interpreted her yesterday’s statement in a sense that Serbia is threatening with something.

Vulin: Albanians from Kosovo are already in Iraq and Afghanistan (Tanjug, RTS)

Serbian Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, reacting to a statement Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj made earlier that Kosovo army is not formed for the north but “for Afghanistan and Iraq,” said that Albanians from Kosovo are already in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria and elsewhere where Al Qaida and ISIS are.

“If Haradinaj wants to send Albanians from Kosovo to Iraq and Afghanistan, he needs no army for that,” Vulin said, adding that based on the number of inhabitants, Kosovo has the highest number of foreign fighters joining ISIS, than any other nation.

Dacic: Number of states recognising Kosovo soon under 100 (N1, Beta, Blic)

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic said that the number of countries that had recognised Kosovo’ independence would fall below 100, and then soon under the half of the 193 UN member states, Belgrade based Beta news agency reported.

Dacic told Belgrade based daily Blic that “Pristina authorities are in serious trouble” since their Interpol membership was supported only by 76 countries, two of which were not the UN member states.

Vucic: I'm convinced there'll be no war (B92, TV Pink)

Speaking about tensions in Kosovo and Metohija after introduction of 100% taxes on goods from Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic says he's convinced there will be no war.

"I do not like to even use that word, it seems to me that people in Pristina today don't understand the scope of the disaster they can cause, and I plead with them try to understand that," the president told TV Pink, and added:

Serbian PM comments on statements of her Albanian counterpart (RTS)

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said the sole goal of Edi Rama's latest statements is political spin, and blaming Serbia for all the unreasonable decisions made in Pristina, RTS reports.

Reacting on statements Albanian PM Rama made in Croatia – who said that Serbia had "violated the CEFTA (free trade agreement) – Brnabic said she thought Rama was responsible but unfortunately was wrong.

Selakovic: "Citizens must understand how our situation is serious" (B92, TV Prva, Vecernje Novosti)

Secretary general of the Serbian president Nikola Selakovic told Prva TV on Wednesday that there is no confirmation that Washington is sending a ship full of weapons to the (future) Kosovo army, quotes B92 portal.

"The very fact that the formation of the so-called Kosovo army is being considered, which is contrary to all international regulations, but also to those adopted in Kosovo, shows that they don't hesitate at nothing," said Selakovic.

Appeal to Germany to help stabilize situation in region (Serbian Government, B92)

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic warned on Tuesday that there was a growing danger of further radicalization in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbian Government announced.

During the meeting with German Bundestag and Free Democrats' Party member Renata Alt, Brnabic said this danger was due to a series of moves that Pristina has taken over the past month.
