MITROVICA - Marko Djuric, director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija, said on Sunday that the current and all future governments of Serbia will stand by its people in the southern province and Serbian Statehood Day will be marked in Kosovo.

“Serbian Statehood Day will be celebrated in Kosovo-Metohija because Kosovo-Metohija is part of Serbia,” Djuric said at ceremony marking Statehood Day in Mitrovica.

He underlined that the roots of the Serbian state stem from Kosovo.

BELGARDE - Marko Djuric, director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) said for Thursday's edition of Belgrade daily Politika that the trials in KiM will be conducted in line with the regulations passed by the Kosovo parliament.

Director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said that in the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the Serbian Government deems the establishment of the Union of Serb Municipalities a top priority.

BELGRADE - Marko Djuric, head of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija, stated on Wednesday that the agreement on judiciary, which was initialed in Brussels on Tuesday, will bring about better conditions for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

Djuric said that for Radio and Television of Serbia that he expects that the agreement will also contribute to the opening of chapters in the EU accession talks.

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric met with Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia Attila Pinter to discuss the support of Hungary to Serbia's EU integration and the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Djuric and Pinter agreed that it is very important to continue implementing the agreements reached as part of the Brussels Agreement (on the normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations) and that progress should be made by taking practical steps, the Office for KiM said in a release on Friday.

The decision on the further participation of the Serbs in Kosovo institutions will be made next week, after a meeting in Brussels, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric. 

Arban Abrashi, the spokesman for the goverment of Kosovo, reacted today to a statement by Marko Djuric, the head of the Serbian government’s office for Kosovo, on the Trepca mining complex. “We need to stress that no one will ask Serbia to give up on something that is not hers. Trepca and all its wealth belongs to Kosovo. We also understand Djuric and the fact that he needs to make big statements,” Abrashi said.

The real reasons for the protest in Pristina are economic and social, not political, say the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric. The property question will certainly be on the agenda of the talks in Brussels, said Djuric.

Marko Djuric, visiting the RTS morning news, said that 15 years nobody deals with accumulated problems in Kosovo.

The director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić said in an interview to TV N1 that mass protests in Kosovo actually hide general dissatisfaction of people who live there.

“Socio-political situation in our southern province is very complex, 15 years Albanian leaders live from nationalistic rhetoric, and stories about independence,” said Đurić and added that for all these years nothing has been done economy-wise.

Director of the Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric announced that representatives of Serbia at the forthcoming talks in Brussels, on February 9, would run several topics of importance to the Serbian community in the province.

"The first topics of interest, most certainly, will be the position of Serbian municipalities, the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian property in Kosovo and Metohija, justice. There must be the question of the missing whose fate, on both sides, is still unknown," Djuric said in an interview to "Nase novine."
