Kosovo’s Minister of European Integration, Bekim Çollaku, told Radio Free Europe that Kosovo Assembly should as soon as possible address “in a responsible manner the border-demarcation agreement, as a matter of national interest.” Çollaku said the issue of demarcation is the responsibility of all institutions of Kosovo and it should be addressed as soon as possible. “This issue must go for a serious debate in the Assembly.

European Union leaders on Monday sought to reassure Balkan nations that talks on their becoming members of the bloc would continue despite Britain's vote to leave the union.

French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini held a meeting with Balkan leaders in Paris during which they underlined their determination to continue the accession talks.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, after the central meeting of the Summit of Leaders in Paris on Tuesday said that there will be no integration in the European Union without fulfilling all the criteria set by the EU. “Kosovo MPs, in accordance with the work of the state commission and the clear position of the U.S. State Department, should address the issue of border-demarcation with Montenegro as soon as possible.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, wrote on his Facebook page about demarcation, noting that the process is in order and that this obligation should be fulfilled, because it endangers liberalization of visas.

Kosovo’s European Integration Ministry officials told the news site that if the Kosovo Assembly fails to ratify the border-demarcation agreement with Montenegro, it would jeopardise the visa liberalisation process. The ratification of this agreement, according to European integration officials, is a condition for this process and it is now in the hands of the Kosovo Assembly and political parties to decide on this matter. Meanwhile, opposition parties have reiterated that they will oppose the ratification of this agreement by all means.

Kosovo’s President, Hashim Thaçi, will meet today in Brussels the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini and president of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz. Sources within the presidency told the news site that President Thaçi will emphasize Kosovo’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration and its role as a “factor of stability and good neighbourliness in the region.” Sources also said that President Thaçi will ask from EU senior officials to accelerate the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens.

Hopes in Georgia, Ukraine and Kosovo that the European Union would approve their visa-free access to the bloc by the summer have faded in recent days amid a raft of new concerns raised by the bloc’s biggest member states.

European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, spoke to the members of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) about EU’s expectations and the progress in Kosovo, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Turkey, and Serbia. With regards to Kosovo, Hahn noted that the next challenge is implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA).

European Union states held off agreeing to ease travel rules for Georgia on Wednesday, and Turkey, Ukraine and Kosovo should also expect more delays in visa waiving as the bloc turns more cautious amid immigration fears, EU delegation sources said.

Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Ɖurić said that he was concerned with the way people of Serbian nationality, who have valid passports of Serbia, are treated in the southern province. “No one can force the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija to accept the passports with the symbols of illegally proclaimed independence of Kosovo. We will solve the problem through administrative measures, or, preferably, through the Brussels dialogue,” said Ɖurić for TV "Pink".
