After five months newspapers arrived in northern Kosovo (Radio KIM, Radio kontakt plus)

After five months the daily newspapers from Serbia can be purchased at kiosks this morning in northern Kosovo, Radio KIM reports.

Zvezdan Mihajlovic from KIM Beokolp company which is distributing the newspapers told Radio kontakt plus that additional 100 percent tariffs, Pristina introduced last year on goods from central Serbia, were paid, however the price of the newspapers would remain the same as in central Serbia.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today he is very concerned because Srpska Lista has been prevented to take part in the elections in Kosovo and Metohija. Vucic added he would discuss about it with Russian and Chinese presidents in Beijing, as well as with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, Tanjug news agency reported.

TV Most reports on Monday that Self-determination Movement has announced it would vote against proposal and candidates of the Serbian List, unless there is a concrete evidence that “Serbian candidates will respect the constitutional order in Kosovo”.

They have explained that participation of Serbian List candidates at the elections to be held on May 19 cannot be confirmed if eight of the nine members of the Central Election Commission do not vote for them.

CEC requests to receive resignations of northern Kosovo mayors (TV Most)

TV Most reported on Saturday, quoting Koha, that the Central Election Commission (CEC) sent a letter to Adrijana Hodzic the Minister of Local Government Administration, asking her to send them the letters of resignation of the mayors of Leposavic, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Mitrovica North municipalities.

The letter was sent to Hodzic after the meeting CEC held on Friday, during which they have considered political parties’ applications for the forthcoming elections in the north on May 19.

Rakic, Vulovic, Jankovic and Todic mayoral candidates again (KIM)

Srpska Lista candidates for mayors in the four northern municipalities are Zoran Todic, Srdjan Vulovic, Vucina Jankovic and Goran Rakic, Radio KIM reports referring to Pristina-based daily Zeri.

Srpska Lista submitted on Thursday its request to the Central Election Commission for the participation at the forthcoming extraordinary mayoral elections in the north. The elections are scheduled to take place on May 19.

By scheduling elections for mayors of Serb northern municipalities, "Pristina is trying to destabilize Serbs." This creates the danger of protests and violence, Belgrade-based daily Politika writes.

Namely, if the Serb List, voted for by some 90 percent of Serbs in the last elections, decides to boycott the May elections, according to the Belgrade daily, that could lead to police intervention in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, "something that Pristina would then accuse local Serbs and Belgrade for."

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic has responded to a UK advisory to its citizens not to travel to northern, predominantly Serb, part of Kosovo, "because of crime."

Dacic said on Thursday that he, too, is warning the citizens of Serbia not to travel to the UK because of major political instability in that country, that is currently experiencing "major political chaos."
